Thanks for the words of encouragement. I try not to let popular opinion shape my art, but lets face it, it happens. :)
Anyways, I thought I'd post this here, it's a test page of a comic I'm working on (23 pages, ouch) and I'm kinda hankering for some constructive critisism on the style of inking, anything about it I could change.

Yow yow, nice idea! Great species and character concept!
I'd say the translucent sarong is a good idea. It might be a good idea to keep it somewhat short, though. Like around the knees. The idea of men's bikinis or speedo underneath is one I would suggest. Of a darker colour, either black or purple (depending on the colours of other clothing items).
If you're going to the effeminate look and would like him to wear something on his upper body, you could try the popular fishnet tanktop that stops above the navel (most likely black), or a light t-shirt that's tied into a knot above the navel. Either way, showing his belly button is a good idea. It gives a sensual feeling to the character.
Now the little things: Piercings are a good idea, whether it's on one or both ears, the tongue, nipple(s), and/or navel. But don't overdo that too much. Just one or two is good. Then something in his hair, perhaps a kerchief of some sort or a flower (depending on how long you want his hair), and potentially some sexy looking shades perched on the end of his muzzle.

This is the character design for his mate, Lily. He didn't exactly choose her... but you don't say no to sharks.
I really wish I could show the pics I've done of the two of them together, but it'll be hosted exclusively on a paysite if they like them. ^_^() I love the two of them tho... <3
