Art critique and advice; beginner artists are welcome to post here; includes an oekaki. (NO FLAMES)

Artists, read before posting!

Before you post your art to ask for critique, please read these tutorials. They explain the basic principles of drawing and figure drawing. Most posts where these basics are missing will never get a response, as people are quite frankly sick and bored of explaining over and over that you would have to pretty much learn how to draw first, before you could improve.

These were brought to my attention by Aeresque#Artist. Courtesy of Scribd: Drawing the Human head, Drawing Dynamic Hands, Dynamic Figure Drawing
And for those of you who want it a bit easier, we also have the whole thing as one neat rar with all three books in pdf form.

If you think you know a good basic tutorial that would fit in here, feel free to contact me under Xenofur in IRC and I will add the link.

First time I've done something in this sort of style. Can't see anything glaringly wrong with it, which of course means I've missed something massive. Also have no idea how I'm gonna colour it. Any crits and suggestions welcome.

>>503 No it looks great to me. The pose is great and realistic. This might just be me but i think the jaw (the side you see more of) is just a little too big, IMO but i don't think you should run the risk of ruining the sketch for something very trivial.

Anatomy, anatomy, anatomy. You can fool a nooblet with your line quality but it's quite clear that you're winging half of it, and that you don't understand form very well.

Learn the understructure, the skeleton, muscles, fat deposits and the way the flesh lays. Work on proportion. Don't be concerned with intentionally putting your 'style' into something. As you learn, your flair will take place and your style will develop naturally. You need to know how something appears and exists before you can effectively stylize it, say the face for example.

Color? No. Show me your shading, show me you understand value and can produce a form, then I will help you with color.

And for the record, her tits could shoot spaceships out of the sky. It's not as appealing in appearance as you may think.
