Art critique and advice; beginner artists are welcome to post here; includes an oekaki. (NO FLAMES)

Artists, read before posting!

Before you post your art to ask for critique, please read these tutorials. They explain the basic principles of drawing and figure drawing. Most posts where these basics are missing will never get a response, as people are quite frankly sick and bored of explaining over and over that you would have to pretty much learn how to draw first, before you could improve.

These were brought to my attention by Aeresque#Artist. Courtesy of Scribd: Drawing the Human head, Drawing Dynamic Hands, Dynamic Figure Drawing
And for those of you who want it a bit easier, we also have the whole thing as one neat rar with all three books in pdf form.

If you think you know a good basic tutorial that would fit in here, feel free to contact me under Xenofur in IRC and I will add the link.

I posted this on another board but remembered this one and saw Deatzh roaming around, so i'm putting it up here with an "Help me, PERSON WITH THE D NAME!"

Original Text:
Since i figure there's pretty much no chance that anyone willing to give critique would even see this on FA i thought it'd ask you guys.

The intent behind this picture was to establish head shape and colour scheme for a species/tribe/whatever of dragons i had in mind for a while.
I tried to go for a cute look without doing a too flat/too human face. Part of the intent behind the feathers and horns was to visually enlarge the head to get the appearance of cuter proportions without actually venturing into hydrocephalic territory.
It's still a bit rough around the edges but i have to admit that overall i'm pretty happy with it

Before i dive into stuff like playing around with skin texture, rendering the feathers properly and perhaps switching over to lineless i'd love to hear some opinions and critique regarding what i got so far, i'd hate to have to redo the most labour intensive parts because i missed some obvious flaws.
(for example i'm still not quite sure if the nostrils are properly aligned)

lessons learned so far: linework still seems to be more hassle than it's worth most of the time

And inevitably:

Eh, turns out i couldn't leave it alone after all...

Did a lot of skuff on the skin, a bit on the feathers and nothing so far on the horns.

With the skin i'm relatively happy so far, except for one patch on the neck.
The feathers definitely need more work but i'm a bit unsure how to continue.

Request for comments still stands of course (or i wouldn't be posting it here)

Ummm, I'm not Deatz, but can you make just a character sheet (also in b/w only) and post it here?

It's hard to say something on a race design, with only a 3/4 head view.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, i had a few busy days.

To be honest, i was mostly looking for comments on what's there so far and some advice on the feathers but i'll try to whip up a proper character sheet after i finish this (or before, if my attention span is too short)
The rest of the design isn't going to be very exciting, they're anthropomorphic, digitigrade with a relatively short, thick tail. Though i guess figuring out posture and perhaps hip structure is going to be a bit of a challenge
