Narnia and Religion

Narnia is not a religous story, movie or book, and no matter what you here from anyone, that fact will remain true. The author of the series, CS Lewis, spent much of his time denying claims that his works were religous. Ever since he wrote it he said it was not religous. He went to his grave denying 'their' claims. Yet still 'they' say it's a religous story. Take it from the person who wrote the book itself; it is not. Please, If you ever hear anyone say it's a religous story/book/movie, refute that point. Yes, Aslan returning from the dead is like jesus. Yes, he died for someone else's sins. But the author, who has the full rights of saying what his book is and is not, says it is not religous, and so therefore it is not religous.

Alright, its not religous, but it's still a gay movie, during the 2nd half I did'nt even want to watch it, was so boring, the battle at the end was the only good part.  Total waste of bandwidth downloading it.

This is not surprising considering the time period [1950s] that Narnia was written.

The issue of religion and its connection to the Narnia story is not related to Fchan and therefore is not to be discussed right now.

I realize this is really old and off topic, but I have to wave around my College Student Penis a bit.

To say that the author's intent makes it so is a (common) fallacy:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intentional_fallacy

"Intentional fallacy, in literary criticism, addresses the assumption that the meaning intended by the author of a literary work is of primary importance. By characterizing this assumption as a "fallacy", a critic suggests that the author's intention is not important."

I'm not saying you or anyone else is wrong, but just that you should know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion on this matter, and a popular one is to not take the author's intent to be all that important.

All this being said, my opinion is that fuck no, it is fucking full of christian imagery and I can't just ignore that.

That is all.
