talk talk talk talk talk! So sick of the talk. And next post that says 'bump' and nothing else, I'll want to scream. These are image boards. Nadia? Any way to jigger the code so that unless a pic is posted, it doesn't bump the thrrad?  On the other hand, this would likely just lead to idiots posting off topic pics just to prolong the life of a thread that, If getting no new material, frankly needs to scroll off and die. That's how it works.

Sometimes people see a bump and post new images, and imageless posts sometimes have interesting conversation, source links and information.

If I have a cool pic or three and am not feeling lazy, I'll post, to encourage others to do the same. Same with artist/source info. But people shouldn't be required to in order to bump a thread. (If they were, I think the board would feel more restrictive. Posts in high-traffic boards already disappear after after a day or two if not bumped. Those in lower-traffic boards are bumped less often because they won't scroll off so fast.) Often, after several "bumps", someone will get sick of only that and post an image, or it'll get forgotten while other threads are bumped to the top.

I'd say if you're sick of nothing but bump, post a cool image. If you've got nothing for that thread, go to another.

These are community forums with the purpose of posting pictures an conversing about said pictures. Everything will stay as it is.

Yeah. Saying BUMP and nothing else is the height of wit and discussion. I'm not saying we need to make boards dissolve faster, but, if they aren't getting any new material, and they keep getting bumped, they're taking the place of new posted pics.  Me? I admit, I've posted without an image when I don't have an appropriate one, But.... I've never said 'bump' and nothing more.

Okay, I think you've told us this already, or at least inferred it. Your opinion is now clear to all of us. Thank you for sharing it.

I have been considering placing some guidelines about off-topic images and use of the word: "Bump" a bit too much.

Still a bit behind on that one as well as a few others.

Just don't converse about the artists of said pictures. ;)
