That's sexism for you. :P The idea of a man "lowering himself" or being forced to "lower himself" to the "subjugated role" that women are "supposed" to be in is where that edge comes from, so I've heard. Pardon all the qtotation marks there. :/ If I had to hazard a guess (any women out there may feel free to correct me), something that would be embarrassing for a woman is something "revealing".
