Old video. Funny, and not funny at all, both at the same time. I wanted to be there to rip the puppet off his arm, play "Keep away!" with it, and then toss it onto the roof of a passing crosstown bus. When he protests, answer: "What's the matter? We're only PICKING on you!"

I find it fucking soild gold that the Star Wars fans handled themselfs pretty against some 4th degree burns that stung due to large doses of truth in there (Come on, we know a lot of those guys are gay or have no chance of female contact unless they somehow fine a female clone). That is how fandoms SHOULD react to public ribbing. If that was a furry con..eh..well unless a select few were the subjects of the jokes and pointing, it would quickly end up being yet one more reason furries are sneered at by everyone save for the necros, the otherkin and the NAMBLA people. I can just see what a visit to Artist's Alley would be like, or a dance, the LAN Rooms, a peek though assorted sketchbooks or the wonder of wonders, various room parties.

It's amusing that the guy talking through a HAND PUPPET is chastizing the SW fans for avoiding reality.

>>4 Quite a bad point of critique, as I'm pretty sure the person who does Triumph doesn't actually believe he is or want to be Triumph.

If you're in costume on a public street in line for a movie, you're pretty much fair game for the media. I doubt anybody is going to let Triumph and a camera crew into a con held on private property. (Isn't he banned from that dog show now?)

>>5 "Actually believe he is or want to be"? Come on, most people including SW fans and furries understand the concept of make-believe and masquerade. It's play-acting, not delusion. the movie's over, the event of parading about in costume ends, and these people go back to their regular lives until the next substitute for Halloween rolls around. Get it?

>>8 I wasn't talking about the SW fans. You think most urries understand fantasy from reality? Err...yeah. Goto a furry con and tell me how many fursuiters you see there that are just dressing up for masquerade.

Triumph at a furry convention? Ye gawds... In "Goblin Hollow" (formerly "Under The Lemon Tree") Triumph was quite savagely lampooned, going to a generic D & D convention.

>>9 Err...YEAH I do thnk so. Why don't you? Aside from the scheduled masquerade and parade, several people are wearing costumes on and off throughout the convention. These used to be called "hall costumes" at regular science fiction conventions, worn for showing off and genrally goofing around in character.
