since he's DNP now.. (anyone know WHY he wanted it?)
is there some place where he has allowed his adult work to be posted?

>>1 Nadia took the DNP request from Ollie. You could ask Xeno if Nadia left a 'why?' reason from Ollie, but I seriously doubt there's one. IHMO, it looks like Ollie's just withdrawing from the fandom and as such doesn't want his adult art of the past everywhere.

As for a place he does, nope. Other Chans who don't care however post his works and other DNP works freely.

yeah i know about the other chans. too bad theyre all slow traffic wise and pretty much infierior to fchan.

man, i use to know about an awesome FTP site that had anything you can think of, but they frigging changed the password. i never used it much and even though i could have got all of dr comets bernals and anyone elses work, i was actually looking more for lesser known but equally awesome (and dnp free) artists.

i dont understand why (unless they run a pay site) artists dont want their art in certain places. it just makes me think of them as being really pretenious. if i had mad drawing abilities and enjoyed drawing, you can be sure i would allow my work to be posted all over the place. i would just be happy to be making people happy :)

Ollie, as famous and well known as he is doesn't really need any more exposer. It's a tad hasty to label any artist who doesn't want their art all over the place "pretenious" as that's JUST the mindset that has driven some artists to leave furry outright and some to indeed not allow their art to be placed everywhere. As for why they do it? ..it's their art so why not?

Some of them are pretentious. And drama whores. And childish. Or a combination of all three. Just because you can draw or draw well doesn't mean you don't suffer the same personality flaws as other people.

Some artists have some shame about what they draw, but still enjoy it. They really like something in particular they draw, but they don't want their close friends, family, or business partners/fellow employees knowing about their obscure little fetish. With good reason too. Announcing to your local community you get off on Sonic the Hedgehog Hentai or enjoy what can be boiled down as "pornographically altered cartoon animal people" in laymans terms is simply not going to win you friends and influence people positively. These are the folks trying to walk the line between bringing a very narrow minority a kind of artwork that's very difficult to find, without negatively impacting their lives with a lot of embarassing, unwanted, and sometimes very hurtful and offensive attention. So they try to control who sees it and where it goes, to keep the exposure low.

Some artists are actually so good, they end up in a position of working for serious commercial arts producers, or other good-paying jobs like that. In those instances, trying to prevent the continued distribution of their artwork is akin to getting a tattoo removed, or cutting off the ponytail, or losing the baggy skater pants and picking up a nice set of slacks, or taking out the nose ring. It's not that they still don't like those things, and don't want other people to do them/enjoy them, they simply are in a position where it's in their best interests to act a little more responsibly in order to maintain a more appropriate image for their profession.

Some artists simply can't handle the association with the extreme, more offensive and more outspoken segments of furry that seem to always get the most attention. When you have had to say, "No I really don't enjoy having sex with my pets and stuffed toys, nor masturbating in mascot costumes," enough times, eventually you're just going to get sick of it. The better your art, the more fame you attain, and the more times you have to defend yourself. Some people get burnt out and bitter.

But yeah... some people are just pretentious.

I didn't mean to make it that long, but yeah... a "SAVE IT FOR LIVEJOURNAL" may be appropriate here.

>>8 At this point, from what I've seen, he shares his latest stuff with a select few people who RP or interact with him often. Some of them leak the latest picture, some don't and you'll just have to dig around till you find it.
