Well...I don't know what your reference point is, but in the US the population is roughly 51% female and 49% male...

Other than that, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

Oh. Well then, >>1 should follow this rule of thumb: if it has to do with porn, there's ALWAYS 10x more guys than girls.

Short of a poll (which I'm betting would not only miss people, but make it easy to mispresent) you'll not find this out.

Basically, Fchan needs a forum you can register for, in place of these threads which are a bitch to navigate.

Probably 10x males/females for the fans. Among the artists, there seem to be plenty of females.

7Report
at 30 Aug 2006: 07:49

Most females would not admit to being a female in a porn site. And, in furry fandom for the most part, "female" users/artists are just guys in disguise because they think they'll receive more attention (or they have a thing for pretending to be women).

Of course, the above may not be 100% fact, and is only taken from opinion/observation.

Even accounting for that, I think that a lot of the artists really are female. Just go look at all the furry deviantART sites; I think MOST of them claim to be female. (Lots of Sonic fans and such...) Now, among the artists that draw porn (or, alternatively, at FA), most artists seem to be male, but even then not all.

Let's try something, mods willing (and if not, just say so and please don't lock the thread on my account). I'd be very interested in an informal census of fchan.meers. We can post anonymously here. If you post in this thread (anonymously), mention whether you're a male or female. I am a male.

Well, I draw all sorts of stuff, adult material included, and I'm male. Desiree draws porn as well, and she's most certainly female. (Either that, or she had a REALLY good doctor. LOL!!!) I hope to god she doesn't read this stuff.

I personaly only know one furry in person and she is my Girlfriend. I have noticed though that most of the people that visit this site and most other porn sites are male. And the clean sites are full of females such as Lion King fan sites (General Disney) and similar sites.

Im also an Artist and Im Male. My girlfriend is also a furry artist. I prefer to draw the clean stuff but she likes to draw porn more often.

13Report
quoting_mungo at 31 Aug 2006: 02:06

I am female, and I draw porn, and most of the artists I know are female as well, as it happens. Not all that many of them draw porn, though.
But I think that may be partially because most of my male friends aren't very artistically inclined -- my two closest male (furry) friends both WRITE porn, after all. ^_~

In my opinion, as long as there's no reference to RL, gender is effectively unimportant in any sort of online interaction. I've always considered it to be something like this. In real life, I am constrained by my human body, but the moment I take away the physical aspect, the only thing that matters is your mind, which is essentially seperate from your physical side.

In sort, I may be physically of a certain gender, but once I remove the physical aspect, gender is no longer an issue.

I must disagree. Gender has an indirect but very strong effect on our mind: gender determines our influences in our formative years, from what we played with and what we watched on tv, to how people treated us. The culture where we grew up also affects our minds in a similar way.

Our personality is a product of our upbringing and our experiences. Our mind is like a sponge, it absorbs and is shaped by its environment. Our physical bodies may not define who we are, but they have a lot to do with how we became who we are.

O RLY? I can only think of 1 or 2 individuals where such is the case. Whereas I've known TONS of girls who were, in fact, guys. And straight guys no less.

Bizzle at 1 Sep 2006: 10:24

>>17 Good point. That is why it is very difficult for a person to act as though they were of the opposite gender. Someone who is paying attention will pick up on their inconcistent mannerisms.

It is true gender does affect our mannerisms, but as in all your examples, it affects indirectly. This also means that even though it is generally likely that someone who shows certain qualities online might be a certain gender, you cannot be certain.

But that isn't my point anyway.

My point is that, why does it matter what gender we are if RL doesn't get involved? Does our chromozones affect how we should treat each other in an environment where they serve no purpose? Can't we take this as an opportunity to treat everyone as equals, for once?

Bizzle at 1 Sep 2006: 22:39

>>23 "Yiffy art"...God, of all the things to be pretentious about! You'll probably get over it, though, when you're done busting your nut.

>>24 No, one can not be absolutely certain, but you get a pretty good idea.

Equality doesn't enter into it. We all behave differently toward men than we do women. It's just how social interaction works.

You know, I'm embarassed even among other furries to use the word "yiff". Call it furry porn, not yiffy art. Do you think gay people call it anything other than gay porn? Or that straight people call it anything other than porn? Or lesbians, S&M fans, or any other group? It's perhaps the dumbest word ever invented.

try reading the front page FAQ. "fchan is a heavily modified wakaba-based imageboard, for the posting of furry artwork (porn, mainly).". that line's been there since dr. pon was running the place.

i hate to burst the mods collective bubble, but no one really cares about underage furrys... or furrys at all! lol j\k\.
but serously who are you trying not to offend?.

it seems to me that this entire board is dictated, not by a crazy delete-happy mod, but by fear.
fear that someone browsing in \f\ will see a dick and go "omfg iwas looking for some vag and i saw a COCK!, im offended.
who's feelings are you trying to protect?.
are you really worried about some extreme feminist jumping down your throat?, you dont seem to pay people like me much mind when we say "i think your all still scared of your sexuality".
so why all the rules we ask?
because without anal-retentive power-mongering dishearteningly ignorant mods,... no wait lost it.

p.s. do you guys get paid to crush peoples boner and spirit at the same time?, or do you just enjoy policing a dying website full of pansies?.

Fchan has no regestration, ect. And the modding here is actually pretty meek.
