What does it do?

it provides a link directly to the post.

Sorry; I'm being kind of dense at the moment, but it doesn't appear to do anything. I don't understand. Clicking on it does EXACTLY what? Where does the link appear? How is it properly used? Give me an example: "Suppose you want to accomplish [such-and-such]. Clicking on the PostFocus button will enable you to [do what?]"

I find it's most handy for linking to threads here from off-site, like if you wanted to show a friend something.  Since hot-linking of images isn't allowed, you can link them to the thread and the specific image/post with the 'post focus' thing.  It even highlights the post for you!

That doesn't tell me how it works. I click on it and nothing happens. It doesn't appear in the reply comment box. It isn't magically cut to my clipboard. Is it only a right-click thing?

It might be a browser-specific thing, so depending on your OS/browser, it might not be working as intended. But when it does its job, it highlights the selected post, and changes the URL to link directly to it -- so, copy and paste the URL in the browser's address bar to a friend, and it'll highlight that post when they go to said page.

But, as I said, it's entirely possible that it just doesn't want to work with your browser. :)
