Actually according to this: - non-morphic characters from comic books, cartoons and similar should now be posted in /toon/ - other non-morphics must be accompanied by furries as they themselves do not count as furry. That means mostly: no human on x animal, no solo animals.
by your own vague wording it's really terribly unclear if a non-morphic character made up by the poster or another furry is in fact allowed or not, and how far 'animal' exactly such characters would be allowed to appear before they're considered inappropriate.
