I been thinking about this lately. Dealing with people that have jobs as fur suiters, Chars, etc. I was thinking about applying for a job as one, but im going to leave my job.(2 internets to the first to figure it out(Heres a hint: Pineapple dole whip)) But, to people that actully do or have(fursuited), are the suits like really hot? or does it depend on how you make it.

Who has a job as a fursuiter?

Pretty risky relying on fur suit making as a primary source of income considering they are not high in demand in most places.

Fursuits are basicly only used as promotions. Other then that, Theme parks and sports events.

FYI-You MUST be very, very, very, very careful if the job means interaction with people such as contact or you could find yourself facing sexual misconduct charges.

Why would you want to spend all day in a hot, heavy, stinky suit?

You actually make some decent money off of it, especially since wandering around all day in a heavy suit like that is easy (despite the heat stroke)

I worked as a mascot (Rover) for the local newspaper for a couple years and got paid by the event I worked. One day, about mid-July, I made almost $500 after taxes for putting up in being in that stupid thing.

I once worked for a place that sent me out out in mascot outfits to various events. The thing that made me quit was a store opening where I was dressed in a full fursuit of the trix rabbit. Everyone thought I was the easter bunny, even though it was the middle of August. not to mention it was about 85˚ outside and about 115˚ inside the suit. granted I did get paid $15 an hour to do it, but the heat inside the suit was enough to make me quit. I feel sorry for the folks in the mickey suits at disney world.

You'd think there'd be some kind of air conditioning unit. A company in Japan has made shirts with little fans blowing air through them. The guys inflate like baloons, but that just means there were more intake fans than outtake ones. With something as thick as a fursuit, it would be no problem to install such a system. In that case, you could even hide the fan vents with a carefully arranged pile of long fur. The batteries (and any accompanying circuitry) could be stored in the tail.
