my guess would be that most anime fans lead a more "normal" life than furries. in a more "normal" life one could become more bitter towards other people, because people in general can be assholes.
but furries have a slightly different lifestyle. they spend much of their time thinking about a more happy and peaceful world where everyone loves eachother. they spend a lot of time talking with like minded people who are never assholeish, theyre loving and caring. even when theyre having a bad day, they still have a positive outlook in the furry world.
obviously when you get a bunch of like minded people together in one place the atmosphere will reflect that.
furries are happy people =]
