>>31 So tell me: Why do most gay males dress in normal street clothes at anime conventions, but dress in provocative clothes at furry conventions? And it is offensive, regardless of whether it is straight or gay. However most straight guys and girls only wear provocative in the bedroom, or perhaps when going out to nightclubs. And most straight couples keep our displays of affection in check while in public. Straight people can be very sexual, but most are only when it's appropriate, and we don't turn every event into something sexual! Some gay men understand. One of my best friends at university was homosexual (I'm not a homophobe)! He was in a committed monogamous relationship. I've seen him give his boyfriend a brief kiss when they meet, share food in a restaurant... the kinds of stuff many straight couples do in public, the only difference being their gender. And that's fine by me. He knew the difference between a brief kiss to say hello, and making out. But not you, you want us to accept your provocative clothes and public displays of affection, when we don't even accept that kind of behavior amongst straight couples! I'm sick of gays like you screaming intolerance every time someone is offended when you prance around in slutty clothes. The reason we are offended may not be because you are homosexual, the reason may be because we don't want to see your bulge and nipples!

I agree. I would be no more offended if the douche boyfriend and slutty girlfriend grinding her ass against her junk in the college rec-room was gay. Straight and gay couples need to adheer to general courtesy and public displays of affection. I just think men are usually more honry and sexual then women, hence why things tend to go a little excessive if the couple is two men. Thats just my synopsis. Gay or straight. Have some courtesty to the people around you. And if its in a public place? Have even more respect.

Well to me it's the enviroment of it all. I was at Califur and Anime Expo in that order and they were only a few months apart from each other. The deal with Califur I like was the cuddly behavior albeit being straight I have a tendency to shun away from hugging those of the same sex unless I know them. For me the celebration of furryness goes rather well in events such as Califur but what does bug me is the Emo gays that jump to conclusions when you don't car for their lifestlye and the ones that wear a gay patch like a fucking swastika. The second are a few overweight girls that preach about acceptance of their weight levels I find that actually does exist at cons. To be perfectly honest I do rather enjoy public displays of affection from straight couples so long as a they do it literally to the side (Ie: off a some wall some wear on not highly traffic areas) for me it's sweet unless it's full out cloths are going off foreplay. However I'm a little more uncomfortable with homosexual couples for some reason (this is somewhat strange considering if I thought the guy caring enough that I may dab in that direction) Holding hands cute light kissing cute, cuddly rubby depends on how cute they are, but as soon as a tounge slips into another tongue Creepy. Going on the Hostile nature of Anime Expo it's not quite as genuinely hostile as Califur threatening due to how cold people are that may be but as soon as the darkness settles Anime expo becomes much more social as the ravers and the furs come out to play. To me what's appropriate at one con is not appropriate at another. I'll say this much I can understand the ammount of erotisism one could get from doing public displays but as you are doing that you should move it to the side so that the people their can look away if they want to. As far as Furs being happy I'm sorry Furs are the most act happy pent up negativity people on the face of the planet they act caring but watch out like all those gay militants if their is something you don't like about thier lifestyle choice (whether be tsunami style open homosexualty or fucking your best friend while her boyfriend was else where) They'll vent every fucking shit they can on you because you oppose them even if you are discussing it rather then threatening them. There comes a point that some furries only seem to understand dominance and ass kicking to get the point across where as anime fans couldn't give a fuck. To some degree I think the Fandom could do with a little less "acceptance" and little more with tolerance. Let's gang up and tolerate you.

>>48 It's not just furries you're referring to. There are hypocrites in ever faction of modern society, especially when dealing with interest-specific groups like Japanese animation fans, furry fans, Star Trek fans, or to a lesser extent, religious nuts. Basically, there are going to be people who will treat you like one of their own when you meet them face to face, but as soon as you turn your back they'll find all possible fault they can with you. As well, like you stated, if you say the wrong thing to someone about his or her beliefs or interests, they will defend them, sometimes violently and offensively and slanderously because you took a jab at something they obviously feel very strongly about. Humanity in general needs to be more tolerant AND accepting of itself and its participants in order for our society to evolve. Once people understand that they can't change each other, but they CAN change themselves, we might just start moving forward.

As for dryhumping, I think it's okay if it fits the context. If you guys are talking about how dogs hump legs and well... there is a guy in a dog fursuit... I think a couple quick humps from him/her are mandatory. =P

There's a Pepsi television commercial where a couple imagines themselves making out in several public places, and then realizes how inappropriate it would be. (Here's a link to the video: http://www.newswire.ca/en/media/details.cgi?EventID=216 ) The commercial makes fun of how people look when they make out, and how inappropriate it is to make out in front of other people. I cannot believe that some people in this thread don't realize this!

>>49 Tell that to those idiot slanderous people I applied some acceptance but it all blew up in my face. Also all groups have there assholes it's just there seem to be predominance for certain kind of behaviors in certain groups. and to me I find a lot more "Variety" in the Furry Fandom then anywhere else. I've seen religious nut cases and quite frankly I've seen alot more Furries that were nuttier then they were. I myself cannot see the practical aspects of acceptance. I could be of course a little confused there is a certain point were I will accept excuses for bad behavior as explanations but I will not accept being treated like shit. If some one treats me like shit and is acting like an Idiot I would rather see there asses marginalized and there social standing go the way fuck down so they have no crediblity to feed on. But not total rejections just more of a "you know if you keep acting this way we are going to stop listening to you sort of thing and push you away" You are entirely correct about the fact that people can change themselves. It's the a-holey-os that constantly complain and say they can't help who they are and they have no life but they know exactly what to do to get themselves out of the hole. I know I'm one of them but at least of have the decency and frame of mind to not always complain about it. (That and yeah I can't work out anymore cause of a herniated disk so I have a somewhat valid excuse) My point stands that if we "accept" certain behavior wouldn't that be allowing more shit to fester. I do believe there are appropriate venues for certain behaviors. However there are behaviors save for a minor minority that we can all agree upon as not cool right? To go off a little though Hate is what happens when ones for someone is self destructive due to the caustic nature of the reciever of the Love. Those who practice hate more often do so in a hypersensitive fashion because they will generalize their pain to apply to everyone. I myself need to learn to stop flinching everytime I here someone is a dragon being that my bad experince with furs is from Dragons mostly. (that and being the only Lemur in a room full of 8 Dragons at califur) Even I at times need to either shun myself or have my friends shun me to get the point across that I'm being an ass but in the end they let me back in once I improve.
