About stating the source...

Wouldn't it be a bit more courteous if we put more effort into telling others the source of these images?

I've Noticed recently that a few pictures have been posted that come from proffesional artists, some of whom make it clear on their personal website that reposting his/her on the internet in any form is violation of copyright.

I would'nt normally have any beef, but one image I saw was even cropped to exclude the Artist's name.

Is typing a name or pasting a link so difficult? :/

Of course it is difficult - in most cases impossible.
I have no idea who drew 98% or so of my porn collection. How on earth would one find out who drew the image, if it's not written in the image? ...am I supposed to remember from where I got all the thousands of images? >_>

I think it's the artists who are responsible for labeling their artwork accordingly. I'm not talking about filename - that gets corrupted entirely in some image boards.

Just a little tag in the corner ought to do.

If the name on the image has been cut off in Photoshop, report it as an edit. We don't allow such things here and will remove it ASAP.

I also hate all those people going, "DNP, mothaeffa, can you read it?!!" when there is no indication of any sort as to who the artist is (no *readable* sig or anything -- emphasis on READABLE, i.e. it's not chickenscratch). Not every person recognizes every artist's pics/style. Some pics can look like one artist's style when it's actually another's (like the confusion with Tojyo and Erosuke).
