So... What keeps you going when it comes to music? I've been trying to find new music but I'm cursed with being picky. So far, I find myself leering towards 'nu-metal', metal with folk music twists, instrumentals, punk rock sounding metal or rock that isn't some crappy suburban brat, and if it has lyrics, I like them to run deep. No stupid rap lyrics like "I gots me moneys and I gots me cars, blah blah blah I sell drugs and got aids." Anyway... I went to lastfm.com and typed 'furry' into the find users thing... Then I checked out what 'furrys' listen too... Apparently decent bands that have lead singers who are too high pitched. i.e. Armor for sleep and Dream theater. Lots of furries had them listed. I dunno, I don't know what I'm talking about lol. At any rate, what do you guys listen too? Clue me in damnit, sifting through crap mainstream artists sucks. I can't find much I like. Well, not many seem to lurk these forums, so if you read this please... Reply damnit! Anyone who doesn't listen to music of some kind has no soul.

Currently: Nightwish, Imogen Heap, m1dy, Blue October, Rhapsody, and most anything done by DJ Zero (djzero.tk). There are many, many others, but they're all artists that I just happen to like one or two songs by. All that Remains (Six), Jan Garabek (Parce Mihi Domine), The White Stripes (Icky Thump), and Buckethead (Jordan) for example. Mostly songs that I hear on the radio or in a game or something, that I like for a bit (usually for a couple months or so), and eventually find new ones.

Lately I've been getting back into Bad Religion. If you haven't heard them before, give them a try, especially if you like lyrics with a multi-syllabic vocabulary.

Falconer, Twilightning, Vision Divine, Rhapsody, Poisonblack, Pretty Maids, After Forever, Gamma Ray,... I don't even know what genres they're classified as. I only know that I like them, and listed to them because of that.

Yeah I have heard lots of Bad Religion. Not in awhile but I know of them well. Every song kinda sounds the same... But Greg Graffin or whoever it is, is a total genius. I like his lyrics alot. I'll look into that other stuff but I'm not sure if it's what I'm looking for.

Things on Tzadik, Important Records, Alternative Tentacles, Drag City, or Relapse = all good. I also like Leftover Crack, My Morning Jacket, and noise music.

AC/DC + Metallica + Iron Maiden + Black Sabbath + Megadeth = win. Off to see Metallica in 2 weeks :D Being a guitarist I listen to mainly guitar driven music. Which makes me dislike most modern music, because the artists are becoming more and more dull and repetetive. Thrash metal, heavy metal and classic rock is all you really need :D

Ummm... Try with Apocalyptica, their songs are mainly (Not to say every song) done with classic intruments. Sonata artica, they have nice songs And well, Nightwish, try with those bands.

Apocalyptica: Four Finnish dudes with cellos who started out doing Metallica covers and have since then moved on to write their own (mostly instrumental) songs. It's basically them and some digitalized drums. Btw, why is it that you always forget the most obvious things? I would like to add to my list of bands: Marilyn Manson *worship worship* and another Swedish band who I'd like to promote: Deathstars (have released two albums).
