Straight, yet some gay furry art is cute?

I lurk quite a few furry places. Not a furry myself, but I do fancy the yiffy images. As far as real life goes, males do nothing for me. A penis just isn't my thing. Girls and their yummy curves are what it's all about. However, some homosexual furry art can be rather cute. I'm not worried or anything silly like that, I just find it a bit odd. I figure it has to do with the fact the males are effemanite(spelling can die...) in form and posture, usualy to the point of looking female, might be a reason. Furry males don't look anything like a human male either, so that could be it also. Really though, I have no solid concrete "reason" as to why some of it can be aluring. I probably sound out of my mind, but I'm curious if anyone else feels the same way.

You're bi, I bet.  Seeing male furry characters bumping uglies simply doesn't provoke the immediate "Oh no I just saw two guys fucking and somewhere in the back of my mind I think I enjoyed the scene" that seeing real-life males knocking boots would provoke.  Defense mechanism of some sort, I think.  Been there, done that.

"I'm straight but enjoy gay furry"-threads pop up here every week. (me being the starter of one of them X3) You're not gay or bi; you're just attracted to male furries' effeminate, cuddly, cute traits.

Attraction to ARTWORK = attraction to IRL guys

Sorry, I have to disagree. Real guys can never look the same as in artwork and so you could whack off to artwork but still be disgusted of the concept of being gay/bi in the real world. To some people it's simply about aesthetics and for them the concept of being bi isn't a reality because probably less than .01% of the same sex could turn them on if even that high of a percent.

80% of male furry artwork tend to be draw in feminine way. that's all,

What he said.

Also, I like to think of the whole straight/gay/bi thing as a matter of percent.  Everyone is a little bit gay, just maybe not a whole lot for some.  This goes with straight too, I know i'm pretty gay, but some fem once in a while just does it for me.  Sometimes I like to think of it as a scale of 1-10 factor.  The way you describe it, you could probably just be a 1 or 2, maybe even 3, but with me i'm around a 6-8, not a full 10.

It's not uncommon for otaku, in Japan, to enjoy shota but otherwise consider themselves straight. It could be a similiar effect.

Someone didn't read the first post. :p I have no atraction to guys. I've asked myself and thought about wether I was before, but it just wasn't there. It was like I was almost trying to force myself to think I was for whatever reason. Kind of like the backwards of what some gay guys go through, trying to force themselves 'not' to be homosexual. Just the fact that other people have commented on observing the same sort of thing, makes me feel less like a loon.

I figure the cuteness and all around furry look of it is what has something to do with it. Yaoi, for example, does nothing for me. Even if the two are very feminine in design. However, depending on artist, setting, etc, a furry gay pic can be pretty nice. One that I particularly like is two Maid guys during New Years having fun. One says something like they should stop before someone comes in, and the other says someone already did. Rather cute I must say. Now take the same setting, and put two bishie guys, or two real guys in their place? A wild Flacid Pen0s appears! Command???

Also, my appologies for creating a topic that you guys seem to get quite a lot of... I don't often come to /dis/, so the fact that it comes up once in a good while was unknown to me. I thank those who are commenting however, much appreciated.

Well that is how it started with me also... now id rate myself as a 4.5 out of 10 as a furry. where 10 is gay, and 1 is homophobic. In rl id say 2.

don't worry hang around for a few years and you will finally see or read something that either makes you go either way, or completely flip the switch to the other side.  the former happened to myself, i used to stick to only the female ones, then i read to stories and was like wow.  now i go either in fur, but neither in skin.

pull up a chair and getUNcomfortable i guess, yes, i have been "inspired" by some gay material (im a guy) but more aroused by m/f pics waay more.
plus, has anyone looked at a comic strip and only half-way see a character and not see HIS "talent" until page 2 when you're already aroused. i guess i am a little worried but still support gay marriage 110%.
and furry males do look more femanime.

srsly: Categorical definitions of sexual orientation impose language, imprecisely, onto reality. There probably is no word that actually delineates a given person's desires. We all just like what we like. Don't worry too much about words.

I waffled a bit but what made me able to appreciate aspects of male furry art was (apart from curiosity) imagining how awesome it would be to have a body like , for example, an anthropomorphic dragon along with the requisite gonads etc..   I suspect the other half of the reason is (as stated earlier) that some male art is effeminately drawn, thereby making it more appealing to the male psychi.  It could also be that being male gives a male a certain sense of familiarity with the male body and it's desires and as such this insight makes it possible for males to appreciate sexual works of a male nature if they want to.  It could also be an expression of a sub- or semi-consciouses feeling of physical inadequacy: that an inferior would be attracted to a supirior, to crave what they lack or to want more.  (Similar arguments could be applied to females.)  Either that or I am bi.  When I was first exposed to the idea of herms (in the human sense), in my early teens, it interested me.  Getting back to furries, I always liked animals and would imagine what it would be like to actually be anthro'ised.  Never thought about my sexual orientation before the fandom.  Does likening some furry (and a tiny bit not) of picture/stories of herms and some male stuff in addition to females make me bi in real life?  I never really thought to date a guy, females are more my thing.  Can't speak from practice though, almost 24, and never been on a date--it's kinda sad.  Still, in real life, I'm 90% sure I'd rather go for a female.  Generally speaking, liking erotic pictures may be as much an expression of sexual preference as much as inherent biology.  I mean, isn't it conceivable that many thousands of years ago, at the dawn of the human species, that to encourage reproduction to help ensure the survival of the species, that nature evolved us so that the sight or idea of a sexual nature would cause us to be aroused and mate?  The level of human self-concisenesses in contemporary humans gives us the ability of self-control.   Thus today, this trait is experienced as a milder form of arousal that manifests itself during such activities as, for instance, looking at furry porn.  That's my two cents anyways.

when I look at furry I generally go for 80/20 male/female but when I see some hentais I like about 20/80 male/female.  I don't know why I make this distinction. probably because hentai is mostly well drawn females and furry art are mostly (well drawn)males...
