...Why are you asking here?

It was my understanding (being a guy who's been here for, well, a few years at least) that when /toon/ was first created it was intended for toons (and other content) that fit a certain style or 'look' but that other toon fan-service characters would be allowed there as well.  However if those other toons and fan-service characters were in an appropriate style and suited another board (like /m/) they could be posted there as well.

Thus sonic and super-deformed chibi-style work like that (anything someone might mistake as a child based on style) would be relegated to /toon/ but other toon characters (for instance, weregarurumon who looks obviously of age, and male, and is more often than not depicted in a 'realistic' non-deformed manner despite being from a cartoon) would be acceptable in /m/ OR /toon/.

If this has changed, as some mods deletions recently has suggested, than someone really should make a point of letting the users know, as http://fchan.me/read.php/faq/1163274544 seems to support my interpretation as stated above.

Toon's really become more of a /fanart/ board that also allows non-anthro characters. *shrug*

I don't even think that was hinted at AT ALL in any portion of this topic. o_O  Plus, it's like THE most popular section.

Really? I see tons more solo female or straight in /toon than yaoi.

in short: >>5 has it completely right. ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY the style it is drawn in decides wether it is fit for toon or not.

if you think a mod has made a wrong decision there and deleted something wrongly, hit me up in irc.
