This is funny. I'll start off first. 1-someone says "Here kitty, kitty," and you spring up first 2-you refer to your hands and feet as claws and paws 3-you have growled at someone in anger 4-you purr, murr, or sqwee when you get pet or scritched 5-you own every single Redwall book in hardcover 6-you have a collection of your favorite animal figures, pictures, or plushies 7-you take a minimum wage weekend job to be furry, when you already make $50k/yr 8-you howl at the moon light and get a response from wolves 9-you find ways to slip in furry slang while no one notices 10-you grow your own winter coat

Ok... whenever I am online, I usually find myself saying "Paws" and "muzzle" and the like, just... cause. I don't really at work or anything just cause I really don't need odd looks from people on a construction site, but ...yeah. Redwall ftw <3 only two books on my shelf right now, but I've borrowed them all from the library. >.> lets not get into winter coats...

>>1 >>8 What is this Redwall of which you speak? Are the books any good? I see them described on Wikipedia as children's books -- do they have any depth at all? I'm not a big fantasy reader, mostly because I've just never tried getting into the genre; however, I Lord of the Rings may be my all-time favorite set of books.

>>9 If you managed to actually read the LOTR trilogy (as opposed to buying the books but never reading them because of the movies) then you, sir, are a bigger fantasy reader than most. As for Redwall - they're a tad more formulaic than regular fantasy, but I wouldn't say they completely lack depth. Depends what you like I guess. I found they got horribly predictable after a couple books, but then, I feel the same about Dean R. Koontz, and he's got bestsellers falling out of his ass, so what do I know?

>>9 Redwall is basically a childrens book series about renaissance era animals. I have a particular taste for the series, and I suggest it to any that have the time to read it. Taggarung is one of my personal favorites, I own a copy. I suggest looking up the chronological order of the books and following that, if you do read them.

>>10 Okay then :) I've actually read LotR several times and have the unabridged audio book on CDs (48 CDs, 52 hours :) While I enjoy Koontz occasionally (older stuff mostly) I know what you mean. As soon as I find a good used-books store around here I'll have to find and give Redwall a try.

My favorite that I got from the net a long time ago-- "You might be a furry if... Your fursuit costs more than your car!"

There is a girl in my class who is reallllly fat and is a big superfur, and she always growls when classmates steal her food and shit, fucking hilarious at this age. I like furporn but hate drama; in case you couldn't tell

Heh. I lightly sprinkle my day-to-day convo with casual use of 'paws' rather than hands, 'tail' rather than ass and that kind of thing. I have also slipped with 'yiff' when fuck or sex might have been more appropriate, but nobody seemed to notice anyway. I find I also use figures of speech involving tails and ears more (ie. turned tail, tail between his legs, his ears pricked up, with her ears laid back...). Similarly animal-related similies and metaphors. The former is just me playing with furry overtones in normal settings, and the later is probably just a side effect of thinking directly and indirectly about animals so often. On topic: You might be a furry if, - Whenever you hear about a new cartoon or game you look for anthro characters. - You rolled Tauren, Kajhiit, or whatever the catpeople in EQ2 were called. - You have ever watched Robin Hood or The Secret of NIMH on your computer, with no pretext of 'putting it on for the kids' or any such ruse. - You have more pics of obscure, forgotten furry characters on your computer than you actual porn pics. - When you see a coworker has an animal calander or statutte on their desk, you wonder if... - You have ever put the name of your favourite species into napster/kazaa/etc and downloaded the songs that came up (thats the only reason I have ELO, Elton John, and Yes on my HD) - You have ever made a yiffy tag/spray in Counter Strike/DoD/etc to have a laugh about shoving it down people's throats.
