Okay... Seeing as how people seem to use the "this is for /dis/" patch, I decided to see if anyone would actually talk about it.

I know the little saying how you don't HAVE to look at things in threads, but when something this disturbingly sadistic shows up it catches your attention. The way I see it, the way that furry fandom seems to... tolerate odd fetishes has gone a lil overboard. Sure theres alot of weird stuff out there. Though most of it seems like harmless fantasy. Whereas masturbating to pictures of someone pulling a girls intestines out can develop into someone getting fed up of just fantasizing it and possibly doing something stupid.

Theres nothing anyone can really do about the way the fandom is, but the moment I see something like sexually eating dead fetuses I get pissed. Makes me wonder what these people are like mentally, IRL, who request or draw this shit.

Theres no point making lame-ass excuses for it. Either you're into that stuff or you're not.

You must understand that people are not about to deny themselves thoughts and images of that which they find arousing, however unusual those stimuli are. Violent imagery works for a lot of people who are entirely non-violent in life. They can be expected and trusted to keep those things in the realm of the imagination as much as anybody like yourself can be expected to refrain from acting out on whatever attracts you to look in /ah/.

I've never heard of anyone pulling a girls intestines out and masturbating over them or eatting fetus'>_<

It is totally gross though but FChan's policy is tolerance and it's not illegal in most countries to depict that stuff. It grosses me out too but fchan isn't exactly an upper class gallery of fine arts, it's a catch all furry imageboard and outlawing some subgroups is just being eliteist.

I still question the sanity of the people who draw and/or get off to that stuff though... =/

I'm offended that you would single out this one thing and say, "Everyone else knows their stuff is fake, but those gore people..." like we don't know that killing someone in real life is wrong.  Then you go on to make it sound like we're some kind of smear that has to be tolerated in your otherwise perfect existance.  It's insulting that you think just because I happen to enjoy and draw gore and death that I'm somehow beneath you and everyone else with their equally weird (or sometimes weirder) fetishes, and that you question my mental stability because of it.

Now I'm not saying that what I'm into isn't gross or grotesque (the phrase guro is derived from grotesque in the first place), just that with so much other insane shit out there you pick something relatively common in and outside of the fandom to start bashing.  I mean, there's even a popular chan dedicated to the stuff.

>>3 Sorry but it has been done in real life, Jack the Ripper and  other examples are on record, but those cases are exceedingly rare.

There's something very primal in the human psyche that is attracted to violence, blood and gore while simultaneously repulsed by it. There used to be real life spectacles of bloody death enacted for human entertainment and in some places there still are (they are becoming rarer, fortunately.) Our culture has no serious trouble with reveling in fictional accounts and depictions of bloody, violent deaths although the notion of some people becoming sexually aroused by it is usually sidestepped. The violent death of the young or the unborn is thought of as worse than that of the mature but still can be a part of a sadistic sexual fantasy. Real life wild animals tear one another to bloody bits, people butcher animals regularly and the subject can be explored with anthropomorphic animal characters. I'm a purveyor of such extra-violent gory content and I understand perfectly how disagreeable it is. That's why I make an effort to be discreet about it. I don't blame the OP for feeling disgusted by it; it would be unnatural if he/she weren't. I'm hardly offended by that reaction, to which I can only say, "It's not for you, but don't deny it to others." Such very dark, disturbing sadistic/masochistic imagery is undeniably a turn-on for me and others who lead perfectly sane, rational lives. We're not going to deny ourselves thoughts  and images of things that arouse us, nor should we be expected to. It would be like a homosexual trying not to be turned on by a sexy young man (remember, our culture used to consider that as horribly wrong, sick and immoral and many people still do think so.) The gory fantasies are far removed from reality and we're going to keep them solely in the realm of the imagination.

Don't forget the person who just likes to collect weird and provocative images.  Such as me.  I'm not into the stuff such as described in >>1, but I like to collect such images for the following reasons:

1 shock value
2 Other person: "OMG THIS IS THE GROSSEST PIC I HAVE EVAR SEEN", Me: Um, check THIS out...
3 a comforting reminder that there still is some measure of freedom left
4 a stark example of how depraved humanity really is, lest i forget someday
5 with the direction the country and world is moving, I fear soon we will NOT have such freedom.  Best to collect everything now.
