Captchas

I'm just wondering if there's a way to have your post information kept around when you fail the CAPTCHA test. Occasionally I get an image where it's hard to tell exactly what it is ('v' vs 'w', '9' or 'q' vs 'g', etc). When you fail the test your post is lost and that kinda sucks (especially when you had a case of impending tl;dr).

Just a suggestion.

Or you can just go back in history to recover the post, or use copy/paste before posting. (I copy-paste all my replies to any web form, because of the web's inherent flaws)

I personally use Opera, because of this little feature: When i hit submit in a form, and then on the next page hit "Back", the text is all still there. And honestly speaking, i don't have much sympathy for people who willingly use browsers that don't have this simplest of features. ;)

Yeah, I usually try and copy text before submitting but sometimes forget. My normal browser is IE7 and usually it does the same (form history retained when using the Back button) but not always.

Oh well. Thanks for noticing :)

It's never erased for me and I use IE, I just hit back when I fail a Captcha and it's all there.

Never mind that, the Captcha's are still hard to read. Can't we get more readable ones?

Easier to read ones probably wouldn't be too hard, they are a little hard to read.  Especially in the morning when your eyes aren't adjusted to stuff.

As much as I like Opera, I find Firefox a lot more reliable with regards to that specific feature. If you're on a slow connection, sometimes Opera will "forget" the text you entered when going back on a page. It happens to me a lot. It's really weird (I think it's when you press "Back" and you accidentally edit a field before the page is completely reloaded, which is a long time on a slow connection).

There's a Greasemonkey script for Firefox that saves your post stuff if your browser dies on you or something. Don't remember what it was though. :( Sorry. You'll have to google it.

it fills the fields only in when the page is completely loaded. it shouldn't be that difficult though to wait for the loading bar to disappear. oO

Usually there's a whole bunch of things in a page that take forever to load, like google statistics tags or some ads and trackers etc. so the loading bar never dissapears.

It takes minutes before they finally time out.

I just had a captcha that was unreadable! It was not an i/1/l/T so I don't know what it was
