Getting an artist tag

1 Report	at 30 Mar 2008: 14:09 If I am understanding the FAQs correctly in regards to receiving an artists tag...you can be denied if the quality of your artwork is bad, or if it shows something the admin doesn't personally like even though it's still allowed to be posted on fchan. Is this true?

Under the terms of Artist Tags(tm), they are only issued to those whom the admins deem to be of significant quality or popularity to stand out above the crowd. Otherwise, we would be giving them to every person who scanned a napkin with a ketchup stain they accidentally created at McDonalds.
3 Report	at 30 Mar 2008: 19:42 So in other words, if an artist that does not qualify for an artists tag requests to be put on the DNP list as a means of limiting unauthorized distribution of their art, something they have the legal right to do, they are then irrevocably denied all rights to post their own artwork themselves. In essence, they are banned from fchan forever just for being poor quality and making the mistake of asking for DNP protection.
4 Report	at 30 Mar 2008: 20:18 It is not my intention to start trouble or flame anyone or anything like that. I'm just wondering why it is so difficult to get an artist's tag. I'll be quiet now.
5 Report	at 30 Mar 2008: 21:15 I'd personally like one, myself, and have asked for it before (according to the moderation changes I've seen, I assume that it was lost in said changes)... But at the same time, I think I can wait another year... or two. (I had something in here about the artist section being down but nevermind that...)
6 Report(capped)	Xenofur at 31 Mar 2008: 03:18 IMPORTANT, READ THIS: An artist tag is not required to get on the DNP. Artist tags are only there to allow more important artists to post on the boards without getting yelled at for impersonating, or to post on /artist. Also, right now the best way to get those is to poke me on IRC, as i'm quite busy with a lot of stuff.
