Well not real furries but really close though, i saw something on youtube and it made me wander of what deformations of the human body that could give it the characteristic of animal, anthro sucha and such. Here is the video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWHW-jxxS1U&feature=related

Mmm, that looked more like a benign growth then a tail. =P I wonder if it had any internal structure?

My prediction, given the current popularity of body mods through piercing, alterative surgeries, etc. it is not that far of a stretch in the near future that there will be surgical techniques which will allow mods such as actual connective tissue tails, bone reconstruction that results in a more "furry" look and even implants which might mimic fur. Then, if you think of the direction in genetic manipulation, it is very possible that structure alteration at the base level is certainly possible. Which begs the question, possibly asked previously on the very board, if it were available, would you undergo such manipulation? Would it become as socially acceptable to sport extreme modifications to the human structure as tattoos are currently accepted? An intriguing thought!!

>>5 I think that such technology is probably going to evolve in different ways. The level of research and development that would have to occur for scientists to make something such as a tail or bone restructuring is massive, and without plenty of research grants, it probably won't happen. Also, the fact that the only call for it is from an extremely small niche market means that it probably won't be seen for a very long time.

>>6 If anything like this were to happen, it would almost certainly be an outgrowth of viable and meaningful research associated with replacing damaged organs and body parts. Regrowing an arm or an eye for example. My biggest problem with it is that humans using such "mods" to get a tail and/or fur will just look like big monkeys, and monkeys are ugly. So they'll be big ugly monkeys :(

>>7 Anthros are just good looking if they're drawn. Any attempt of "realistic" anthros (photomorphs for example) look absolutely ugly, almost disgusting, as well as people trying to mimic animals through tatoos and operations (sharpen teeth or something).

>>9 Heeey, I remember that guy! He was on an episode of Ripley's Believe it or not! Apparently the tiger is his kindred spirit. He's still a ugly [expletive] though... Anywho, animalistic body modifications could actually work, and appear "eye-pleasing", if done in moderation. Maybe a change of the eyes, a -working- tail, ears, maybe fur...(fur mind you, not hair. There is a difference.)

Tails are physically possible however it does put the question of walking into play seeing you have to change the whole buttocks area. To be honest tails on human beings are more clutter then useful.

>>14 Tails are physically possible? If you tell me how you'd manage to add a new limb to your spine and connect it to your CNS I'd be impressed. Methinks that you could possibly sew an ugly piece of bone and flesh on your arse, but it'll never be a part of your body.

All we need to do is go a century or so into the future and get the modifications done then. Hopefully no one's blown everything up by then. Time travel is easy as long as you're prepared for a lengthy wait.

>>19 >>20 Hey guys, anthros don't exist and probably never will. Imagining what real-life furries look like is like trying to imagine any other strictly theoretical creature (Example: A talking taco that craps ice cream). So, what on earth is the point of arguing about it? It's-- literally-- all in our heads.

>>21 Huh? I didn't argue about that, I just stated that calling someone "a cool guy" who does full body paint and visits furrycons just doesn't sound right and that I disagree with full painted or entirely hairy human girls would be anywhere near "sexy".
