When did you first figure out you had a furry type feddish or were a furry?

i was researching werewolves for a project when i had a dream of them and...well you know....anyways thats when i first developed it but never really thought of it later then i found a furry game so thats kinda when i knew

I discovered that *I liked anthro art* just through stumbling around on the internet.

I've had a facination (beyond the norm) with anthro type characters as far back as I can remember, I mean seriously like 4 years old if not younger. In the early teens I was of course a little concerned with the continued intrest and I was drawing more advanced anthroy type stuff when I was like 16.

I never heard the word furry til I was like 17 when I started to get battered for being "furry" on the interwebs; then when i looked it up, I discovered an entire community of sick fucks who took my fantasy childhood intrest, and applied the sickest fetishes under the sun to the subject and had tried to lay claim to all anthro material as belonging to their "community", and had as a result completely poisoned the well for me and have to deal with the fact I can't draw or upload even clean anthro material since it's a one way ticket to locking yourself out of a job inthe arts sector.

I've also been told I don't belong in the community anyway as I also like Kemonomimi style characters, and I'm completely straight. Yet it's funny I seem to've been born with an intrest that most the "real community" only acquired as a sexual fetish in their early late teens...

So, am I a furry, or something different? =p

Unfortunately, that reputation is mostly deserving. Furries are shockingly open about things that most people wouldn't dream of letting others know.

"Fur and Loathing" if I recall correctly.  Hardly as slanderous and unfair as folks make it out to be, as the worst damage to the furry public image is done by furries themselves. 

Furry fans also got featured on an episode of "ER" around the same time, but the fandom barely noticed because the episode didn't try to coin any new terms (furpile, wtf?) for con deviancy, it was just two furries in fursuits having a lovers tiff.

  Me and my friend Austin simultaneously figured we were into the fandom when we happened to be checking out some Star Fox Assault related media (instruction manual, box art, something like that) and I spotted the pic of Krystal lying around enticingly with the gatling gun in her lap. I was all "Dude, she's pretty hot!" and he was like "Yeah..." and there was a bit of a silence.
        The next day's conversation entirely consisted of this:

"Bubba, I looked up some porn last night."
"...Okay..."
"...Well, like Krystal-y porn. And she was...hot. "
"Kry-...? Oh.  ...Dude."

       Austin did the same and our lives were filled with terribly fucked up shit ever since.

I seem to have a unique... furry... origin... thing. And an elipsis fetish? Whatever.
Of all the intertubes I have visited, I appear to be the only one who got their start in Oblivion or Morrowind. I was playing as a Khajiit, and then I noticed "Hey, Khajiits don't wear underwear!"
Or maybe I was playing as an Argonian. I don't remember. But Khajiits are way hotter...
Anyway. Polygons at their best.
For anyone who isn't familiar with The Elder Scrolls series, Argonians are anthro lizards and Khajiits are anthro cats.

Everyone would consider being friends with you anymore if you smash the stuff you masturbate to in their faces, be it furry, hentai or BDSM.

Please stop treating furry as a lifestyle or something like that, if you would tell people that you like anthro-characters in fantasy and games no one would leave you, but if you come up with all that porn stuff and whine that no one can accept your true self afterwards don't wonder why you lose friends.

It's that simple, really. Just get a few other hobbies besides furry and - tadaaaa - you're a bit less strange ;)
