Art critique and advice; beginner artists are welcome to post here; includes an oekaki. (NO FLAMES)

Artists, read before posting!

Before you post your art to ask for critique, please read these tutorials. They explain the basic principles of drawing and figure drawing. Most posts where these basics are missing will never get a response, as people are quite frankly sick and bored of explaining over and over that you would have to pretty much learn how to draw first, before you could improve.

And for those of you who want it a bit easier, we also have the whole thing as one neat rar with all three books in pdf form.

If you think you know a good basic tutorial that would fit in here, feel free to contact me under Xenofur in IRC and I will add the link.

The picture is overall very well done, so good job!

Some good points:

  • Tufts of fur are in all the right places
  • Hair flows smoothly
  • Good shading on hair and upper body
  • Great facial expression
  • Nice wrinkling affect on panties

Some not-so-good points:

  • Hind paws (feet):
the toes seem short, and the paws are at much too steep of an angle.
the ankle joint also seems to be missing.
the paws seem to be at the wrong angle, from this angle you should be able to see the sole/paw pad
  • Legs:
seem too beefy/bulky for a character of her build (she has slender arms and a trim

look very plain, not enough "action". Having one leg raised up or bent more might fix this
alternatively, you could add new highlights (white sections) such as on the ankles or on

        the soles/paw pads.

Overall, great picture. Much better than some of the art I've seen on here.

A few extra pointers:

  • Add a background! Maybe a bedroom with an open dresser, or some clothing strewn on a
    messy bed...
  • Where is her nipple? If you're going for /c/, then I'd suggest adding a bra of some sorts, one matching in color to her panties.
