Art critique and advice; beginner artists are welcome to post here; includes an oekaki. (NO FLAMES)

Artists, read before posting!

Before you post your art to ask for critique, please read these tutorials. They explain the basic principles of drawing and figure drawing. Most posts where these basics are missing will never get a response, as people are quite frankly sick and bored of explaining over and over that you would have to pretty much learn how to draw first, before you could improve.

These were brought to my attention by Aeresque#Artist. Courtesy of Scribd: Drawing the Human head, Drawing Dynamic Hands, Dynamic Figure Drawing
And for those of you who want it a bit easier, we also have the whole thing as one neat rar with all three books in pdf form.

NEW! These were brought to my attention by MajorTom in #fchan. Courtesy of Andrew Loomis: Creative Illustration, Drawing the Head and Hands, Eye Of The Painter, Figure drawing for all it's worth, Fun with a Pencil, Successful Drawing, Drawing Dynamic Hands.

If you think you know a good basic tutorial that would fit in here, feel free to contact me under Xenofur in IRC and I will add the link.

Fox girl try

Hi all, never tried a fur before, or tried female curves. So it was mostly that I focused on.(background is terrible, I know). So critisize the hell out of the character, I would like to know as many flaws as you can find :)

I doubt you'll ever read this, but in the very small chance that furries have not driven you to suicide yet, I will offer some words:

  1. I like the face, but she appears to have no chin. She doesn't have to have a man-chin, but even the slightest chin would be better than none IMO.
  2. She could use actual whiskers, but that's just my preference.
  3. Her eyebrows could be bushier.
  4. Areolas are missing, plus her nipples could be a bit bigger. This is the furry fandom we're talking about here.
  5. In that position, her pussy would be visible, even if covered by a tuft of pubic fur.

As for the background, IMO it's the best part of the pic. Not saying the girl is awful, just saying I genuinely like the background.

Hi
Thanks for the feedback! Haha, why would I have been scared away so soon? I've been around for a long time here but just not done this kind of art before, so I know how... some people.. in the fandom can be.

I'm not afraid of critizism though, I'm looking forward to hearing more. I'll make more art soon, but in the meantime I guess I can upload some of my older stuff here too.

so the red lines belong to the initial sketch and the blue lines are the cleaner render.
hope this is some help

That helped a ton. Thanks, I'll think about all of that for my next work. I like to try different poses and angles, even if it can be difficult sometimes.

Sketch from my latest project I'm working on. As usual, I'm trying a different pose and angle, the hardest things were the hands as I've decided not to cheat with hands anymore, and the head. Now my problem is her chest area, I want to give it a feel like she's leaning towards the viewer a bit

Well, anyway, this is how the pic ended up. I think it's okay, but not much better than that. I have to study alot more anatomy to get better.
