I think it's an interesting question. It's kind of like the question my grandma asks me about being vegetarian - why should I be a vegetarian, if all I'm going to do is eat fake meat?
Okay, maybe it's not quite the same, but maybe you're thinking too much into it - is it really the "maleness" that you're attracted to, or is it the penis?
As a bisexual girl, it's not really the sex gender that I'm attracted to in any one person, it's more the attractiveness or personality, and that changes from person to person.
I dunno. Now I'm just rambling. It'd be interesting to see people's opinions on this.

It's because of the hormones you receive while in the womb.  It affects how you act later on in life.  This has been proven, but to what degree, we don't know.  Look up case studies of gay/straight twins.

I don't think that's what he meant. It's not what makes you gay, it's why some guys decide to be more feminine. I think it's really personal opinion as to why they decide to want to go out with more fem bois or butch ones.

Masculinity and femininity are social constructs. They look feminine because you have it drilled into you from the moment you're born that "this is what girls do". Even subconsciously, watching TV, watching people irl.

Perhaps for some gay people, they somehow made the subconscious correlation that "hey, I want to attract [this gender], I should act like [the other gender]". Obviously, different people would go to different lenghts with that, and some my not go anywhere. I've seen plenty of gay people that don't act feminine at all.

Then again, I know bisexual men, some being happily married/together with women for years, and just naturally display feminine qualities/behavior. There are many many many different reasons for a person to act the way they do, and I dare say very few of those reasons are really understood. Then society determines "that's feminine" or "that's masculine".

PS. There's also a period key on your keyboard. It'll really help if you use it properly. ;)
