if anyone is participating in the /b/ assault on 4chan, please stop, this is why they call furries over dramatic and over sensitive and welll faggy. If furs didn't freak out and 'go to war' over some laughing, we wouldn't be at the bottom of some geek food chain. This is what CYD talks about and this is is why furries bring things on themselves. Ignore it and it will go away.

well said... in cases like this if you leave them alone, they'll lose interest. it's not like they can follow you home after school and beat you up or anything.

and in most cases, they're just as nerdy, if not moreso, than the typical/average furry.

Those who make the most noise, get the most attention. If 5% of the furs make 95% of the noise, they will be 95% perceived as over dramatic and over sensitive and faggy.

Furs seem to have no concept of "self policing".

I suspect many of the furry posts on 4chan's /b/ are really posted by /b/tards on their own board. They post pictures of penises, dead cats, and disfigured babies to create drama, so it wouldn't surprise me if they make fake-furry posts to create drama.

c'MON guys, who cares if it was furry and deleted? who cares if they hate furries? ignore them >< People hate furries BECAUSE of how furries have presented themselves and acted over some teasing. Everyone gets teased on the net, its not persecution.

>>6's links are a perfect example, or the famed Vanity Fair article, the UK Furry spot, the SA visit to a furcon, the bondage fur-suiters, or Jimmy Kimmel's visit to a con dressed up as a beaver, that was a scarey parade of people!

Furries are bringing all of this hate on themselves, and I don't want to have to feel embarassed to say I'm a fan of furry art. Besides, they don't call sci-fi con goers 'alien fuckers'

Actually the rumor is the 7M Get post was CP so that's why it was deleted. Bernal pics have been on there repeatedly and will continue to show up on there rpeeatedly. The sad part is 4chan's /B/ can be relied on to have better quality furry porn with more frequent updates than fchan on a week to week basis. :p

I like /b/. You just need to shut off your sensetivity for a moment, and Ban; pure, unedited human id, vile and unfathomable, yet interesting and educating... not to mention the rewards as the odd nugget of wisdom or awesome joke slips through. /b/ has become virtually unmoddable... at least with the tiny team they have trying to do so.  I've found links to more intriguing and frightening facts on /b/ than I have... pretty much anywhere!  From the crush cat (and the woman's subsequent disappearance) to the lichen on Mars, I owe wisdom to /b/.

Still, I could do without those DESU types.  Maybe if I got the joke...

/b/ is a great place for people who don't take thigns personally. How can you take things personally when both you and the person talking to you is an unknown entity? I'd say, after hanging out on /b/ since 1MGET, I'd say probably 85% of the flames and bashes are just said to keep the image up, they're not intended as a personal attack, nor does that person really despise what you're talking about. A majority of the people on there don't participate in the attacks and invasions(it's usually n00bs trying to fit in that do these). Most /b/tards are actually quite intelligent, and go there to act stupid with no reprucussions with liek midned people.

Essentially, if you turn off your ability to get offended and get a sense of humor, /b/ will suddenly become a lot more friendly. I know this is on the brink of impossible for some furs, and it sucks for them because their life must be horrible, getting offended by everything every day.

>>9 it's doing absolutely nothing to resolve things.

There will never be a resolution. For resolution, both sides must want it, and 4chan does not want resolution. /b/ thrives on conflict. /b/tards make posts with the sole intention of creating controversy. However, 4chan is under the radar of most of the people they insult, so the fact that they get noticed by furries makes them love to hate furries even more. That's right, they love to hate furries. It's a game for them, and they have no intention of making peace with furries, because there's no fun in that.

Hey, don't forget that it was some morons from /b/ that got the entire non-Japanese world shut off from the best tentacle board on the planet.  And now some of us go there and raise a ruckus?

We have a reputation that all of us have to deal with because of just a few people.  Act like "b-tards" and you're no better than they are.  I browse /b/, myself.  There are some disgusting things in there.  There are some interesting things in there.  There are some funny things in there.  If you don't like what they have to offer, then just don't go there.  If you don't like being made fun of, then don't go there and act up, thereby *proving* to them that we in the furry community are just like they think we are, and, therefore deserving of having more fun made of us.  We perpetuate the hate by being hateful.  It's that plain and simple.

What fun is it if you can't accept satire or make fun of your own interests? Some people give the same gray seriousness to furry stuff that some people do to religion or politics. Christ, it's _fucking furries_. Have fun, laugh, maybe masturbate, and don't waste your energy playing the role of a victim and counter-attacking the so-called "evil ones." For comparison, look at sports fans. Yes, some fans do get emotionally charged abount their teams, but there's also a great amount of innocent joking among fans of rival teams, and even satire of one's own team. More of the story: learn to take a joke. as for me, I'm off to put on a tiger ear headband and stuffed tail and wack off to Winger porn.

I love to laugh at furries. I thoroughly enjoyed Jame's Hardiman's fur con satire comic. But /b/'s schoolyard name-calling is not good satire. Calling people "fags" is simply not funny to anyone over the age of twelve.

Frankly, I don’t care what a bunch of twelve-year-old /b/tards think about me. I’d whoop their ass in any measure in real life. What they say does not insult me. But what they do annoys me. They spam our boards and dance around within ear-shot. You want me to have fun, laugh, and masturbate. I do, but it would be a more enjoyable experience without the annoyance and interruptions of /b/tards.

Disapproving of /b/tards has nothing to do with taking furry too seriously. It has everything to do with being over the age of twelve.

Maturity has to start somewhere, and the only place it can start is with the individual. I don't like the fact some 4chan users feel the need to display their immaturity on Fchan, however, part of the reason this occurs is because some of the Fchan users feel the need to do the same thing on their board.

If you don't want them to spam your board, I suggest you don't do it to theirs. Be adamant about it and impress it upon those users who cause problems there. 4chan is not for furry art. Furry art should not be posted on 4chan. It should be posted here.

I'm fairly certain that if the furry content is kept to Fchan, then they will keep their content on 4chan.

This is ridiculous.  /b/ people just like to have fun and dick around with people.  Hell, I read it all the time.  And oftentimes post there just to be a silly asshat.  And I lurk here too.  There is no reason for any furry to scream fursecution and go absolutely nutball just because someone may or may not like you (and with /b/rs, what they say may or may not actually be what they think).  For heaven's sake, I hate cheerleaders, but I don't see them coming in and throwing a righteous fuss when I write about it elsewhere.
I am sad to say that a lot of my fellow fandom members seriously need to learn a sense of self-deprecation-based humor, and how to poke fun at themselves.  If some people could do that, it would make life a lot easier for the rest of us.  :/

As to desu...I don't understand it either, but it's probably in the same pool as renaming anime characters after presidents and having votings and elections and whatnot. The same crowd, I mean. Seems similar, 'promote random character for no real reason using repeating words or a real person's name.'

Well, if I can find the links again I'll post them.  Basically, after a number of interviews where the woman was basically saying "so I killed a cat? So what? It was an experience.", she ended up missing, and her family was quite frantic.  They seem to think that someone may intend their daughter harm.

Part of me is screaming at me right now for taking pleasure from how that turned out.  Last I heard, she was still missing, though I've seen claims saying she turned up, is in hiding, was found dead, and even someone who said they saw a snuff video of her.  I haven't seen sources (trustworthy) to back up any of those though.

No amount of reasoning or discussion is going to convince a /b/tard that furries should be respected. Once you can realize that, and ignore the behavior they exhibit, they will quickly lose  interest. The reason why people like to fuck with furries' heads is for their own personal enjoyment.

I mean what if Trekkies had this kind of reaction to their teasing and ribbing? They'd pretty much do the same thing to them. The reason why humor sites like to fuck with furries is because they know they will get a spectacular reaction.

Pay no attention to them, quietly report their illicit posts to the mods, and just fap. Their job is to make you stop in mid-fap and type a well thought-out but flawed post so that they can stick it to you and watch you squirm. Don't give them the pleasure of even hearing from you.

trekkies don't get harassed like furries because they don't present the same over-sexed public image. They aren't called 'alien fuckers' because they don't dress in bondage gear or bring figures thay have sex with to cons

how do furries improve thier standing?
-ignore or laugh with the joking, whining or drama makes it worse (the reaction to SA started most of the net mess)
-realize that fiction IS NOT A LIFESTYLE. Its a nice fantasy, but making it a part of your real life is technicly disfuntional. This goes for mixing your hobby with your sexual preference as well.
-Furries are not a culture or race that can be discriminated against. Its a subject of art (mostly porn) that a lot of people share interest in. Long essays about 'fursicution' only makes you look bad.

and most importantly; DON'T TAKE YOURSELF TOO SERIOUSLY. Any group that takes itself too seriously makes themselves a target.

Above all learn from this Con embarrassment, and furries might not be the cess pool at the bottom of the geek foodchain
