Why the Drama?

I don't understand why Fchan has more arguments and overall drama than any other board. except maybe Yiff fap. It may have somthing to do with all the rules. There are so many, and things are set so far in stone that problems arise. I constantly go to F.A.P and can honestly say the feel is much better. There D.N.P. list isn't so vast and huge that Massaive repost syndrome happens every time somebody starts a new thread. Heck, I saw a M/M thread that had well over 250 posts. Not to forget the fact that each post can have over 20 pictures. What kind of society is set in stone? Laws just can't be as such. they need to bend and change to there surroundings  fit its people in the best way possible. At this very rate of Fchan I can only see one conclusion. The rules so vast and large, and the burden to make Fchan's people follow them well drive the moderators into calling it quits, or passing the so cald bar to sombody not anywhere near up tp the task. There has been literally a explosion of crap happening here. Lets not hope to rules, iron strong and imovable as they are, work aganst themselves to drive the demise of Fchan.

I disagree with everything you just said.

>>1 I somehow doubt you're a doctor. And how many rules are there? Like, 8. Oh noes, the burden! Yes, following 8 simple rules will drive anyone to murder!

tl;dr

Furries are painfully insecure and drama whores on top of that. That's why you get arguments and whining. You could have one rule or 24 rules, and furries would still whine about them. Even if there were NO rules, furries would whine about that too. (Not all of them obviously, but the ones you always routinely hear from are furries.)

Don't worry about it. If you like another board better, go there and contribute. If enough furries leave Fchan for another board, Fchan will either change and improve, or stagnate and die. Internet Darwanism.

Drama, like in Hollywood!  I think that every year fchan should give out its own Oscar-type awards to the best, um, actors.  (What would be the categories?)

lets face it, most of the furry fandom isn't the most attractive bunch of folks in th world (why do you think so many use pretty furry avatars you represent them?), and therefore, don't have the most active or fulfilling social life either. So when they get together, they subconciously create it in order to feel like they are experiencing something like they see or read in furry art, anime and stories. They want to feel like they're having an 'exciting' life, if not artificial since reality doesn't have so much melodrama.

Most of the furry drama comes from the lifestylers, that they are somehow an animal trapped in a human, and mistake an interest in anthro characters as a real lifestyle or culture that can be discriminated against.. hence 'fursecution'.

Then you have the 'by the book' furries. There's an unwritten set of rules, that if you cross, you're in for a world of digital hurt. For example, the furries that argue about artists, DNP, and who's sub-kink in furry is more gross based on opinion.

Also here's more about the fursecution thing when furries are mentioned online

Of course, some of us are just here to contribute slightly to the art, because 4chan AND shmurr.net and most of the image boards don't accept furry at all ...

Then again, some of us are just here for the art (to right-click and save it.)

And this thread just lost it's focus...

I thought he asked about 'Why the drama on fchan?' not 'What's wrong with furries?' 7 and 8 seem to have a dislike for them, and that's fine. But at the same time, these people have a right to be as they feel without someone ragging on them about it as well.

Let's just use an example, shall we? Let's say you like turkey sandwiches. Someone else who calls themselves 'Clubbers' like turkey sandwiches with bacon on them. Does that mean you need to even CARE what they feel or think enough to bother them about it? No; and yet people like yourself, under guise of being anonymous, will do just that. 'Bacon on a turkey sandwich?! What a freak!' you say to them, then expect them to actually NOT react!

You speak of Fursecution, and yeah, furries can get out of control over it. But then... if such things bother you, why do you sink so far into it? It's like wading into shit up to your waist just to say you don't like shit or you think it smells funny. That whole post for 7 was basically poking furries with a stick to see if they would spaz out on you, and 8 was just one of those 'me too' people who don't have an opinion of their own, yet spend all their time online searching for other people's opinions to support. (If that wasn't just 7 posting more.)

You spoke on furry people's looks, lifestyle, personality, beliefs... how do you expect them to react? If someone insulted and scoffed at all of these things about you how would YOU react? Let's be fair here, and not pretend you wouldn't care. If you don't want furries acting as they do, then *leave them alone*! It's pretty simple.

That said, I will say that the furry community does have the largest amount of unneeded drama I've ever seen. I think most of it stems from the fact that they associate themselves with what they feel they are, and like to feel as if they are the main authority on these things in most cases; each one of them knows they are right, and that always plays out to being drama in the end. Just like this thread is turning into drama, instead of a discussion, the people who get involved snipe at others, and a shitstorm of back and forth 'No U!' starts up, until you can't see the art for the posts people send back and forth.

I think you're taking it too far, yourself. I don't see what is so bad about those posts, myself. They aren't attacking anyone or being rude, they are offering their own opinions about what bothers them. There are no flames and no one is being targeted at all.

Now, if you want to get into why some people (furry or not) tend to become so upset over how a lot of furries act, perhaps it has more to do with the mentality of, "I'm going to act however I want, no matter how much it bothers everyone else or how inappropriate it is in public. Then I'm going to complain when someone says they don't like it and say how awful and evil they are for having a different opinion than mine."

It's not so much the fact that these weird things exist, it's that it is forced in the face of people who aren't into it, then they get nagged at for not being weird enough, themselves. That's what most people consider to be rude and it's what pisses most people off.

What everyone needs to learn is that if you're going to go against the grain and push it in everyone's face, and then accuse of them of not being special or unique or good enough, and tell them they are somehow less of a person for not having some sort of "special" kink, then they WILL react poorly and will call you out on it. They will hate you and they will go around and do whatever they can to piss you off. It's human nature. There are two sides to every coin, and if you're going to get offended and have your feelings hurt because someone doesn't agree with you, don't be surprised when someone of the opposing viewpoint feels the same way.
