What the hell is wrong with these eastern people...

First they ate em, now they slaughter them?

If you compare this one incident(which i'm sure there has been many many more of) to the repeated daily routine incidents at factory farms...this really isn't that big of a deal. As for eating cats...so what? It's suddenly ok to kill one form of life and eat it and not another?

When people do this it is time to look at society, not act like the ones doing this are cruel monsters with no heart. Aside from a very small percentage(less than 1%) most people LEARN this behaviour out of hardships through life and extreme emotional stress. China...well, i'd say that countries people is prone to more emotional stress than any American will ever suffer. To this lady and the people involved it is probably nothing more than a paycheck because they couldn't find work elsewhere.

Lastly...people here post "crush fetish" pictures on /ah/ and i'm sure that some of them would probably BUY these videos. Hell, a lot of people would just out of sheer morbid curiousity. Is it kind of disgusting and depraved? Sure. No more than a kid rounding up 100+ snails and stomping them to death while laughing and having a good old time though. Life is life, yet people seem to act like cats or dogs are above all other life(excluding humans) because they happen to have slightly more intelligence and are commonly pets.

That's my thoughts on this.

Continuing my argument...here is a quote that says it all.

"Animal rights activists care little about the motivation behind the videos. They just want the cruelty stopped."

What about the cruelty to humans every single day? How about reforming society so that people aren't encouraged or even forced into doing these things to survive? Oh that's right...animal rights activists don't give a damn about fixing society or helping humans...they only want to help animals. What they don't realize is that if society itself was fixed and improved there would be little motivation to create these types of videos, even less motivation to buy them. The problems start at the top and then trickle down into everything else. Something small like this is nothing more than the result of an even bigger injustice. Until people unite and work together to fix the world instead of small problems...things like this will continue happening because the root of all evil will never be found and eliminated.

China = poverty, starvation, oppression, etc etc. The problem is not these women or directors making/selling the videos, the problem is the country itself CREATING these people.

Eating cats? Meat is meat.
It's extremely silly that some people think that eating cats or dogs is somehow different from eating pigs or sheep. I've hear people don't even commonly horse meat in the states, though I'm not sure if that's true. Rather bizarre, if it's true...

I have no problem with people eating animals. Hell, I would probably eat dog or cat, but as far as the stomping videos, I don't care what animal is involved, that is sick.

There is a hard line between fantasy and reality, and as much as I love seeing guts and gore, drawing guts and gore and writing about it, I can't stand seeing a poor creature, human or animal, who is forced to deal with such pain and suffering go through something like that (unless said creature is a person who consents, as in body modification).

I also have to disagree with >>2 as I'm sure most people, into bizarre fetishes, know the difference between fantasy and reality, and wouldn't partake in such videos (unless they involved sexy women stomping on men and vice versa). Sure there are those kind of people who like seeing real snuff, but I do think such people need to realize the video they are seeing are real; the creature suffered and died for entertainment sakes and that they would probably dislike having that kind of fate themselves.

I agree with 3, society itself needs to improve before the animals do, because the humans responsible for the cruelty won't stop unless there is a better, more profitable alternative for them. There will always be someone else to follow in their footsteps (no pun intended) unless society learns to value the lifeforms on Earth as more than machines. This includes America where people care more about their pets than the meat they eat (and no, pushing vegetarianism is not the answer. Helping people realize there are better ways of raising animals is.).

Unfortunately, I do think most people who don't care about animals at all, will ever learn to value their life, and will continue treating the animal kingdom as machines or toys, without there being any kind of punishment or law for it. Cause like the woman in the link, there is no sign of love for animals at all in her face. The cat is a toy for her to stomp on. That is all.

YOU draw this line but there is a lot who don't, i've talked to many personally who would definitely buy these videos. Many of the people on 4chan(/b/ in particular) would be really amused by these videos. Is it fucked up? As I already said...yes, it is. Would they like it done to them? Nope. Doesn't change the fact that there is a market for it and that market is created by a society in desperate need of help morally, socially and economically.

I'd say the main problem is most people don't put themselves in the shoes of others, this is why they lack compassion and why the world is full of so many problems. Either that...or they put themselves in the shoes of others and then just don't give a damn and continue doing what they want anyway because they are "superior" or believe they are.

Do they value animal life? If the answer is no, then they would obviously like the videos, because all it takes to be offended by them is an appreciation for the life of animals in it.

These same people are probably the type who have no problem what so ever when there is animal cruelty of any kind, and like I said, likely won't change their attitude without the threat of punishment by law and a steep enough one at that.

A lot of them don't even value human life much less animal life. The people on 4chan crack jokes all day long posting pictures of people who died like it's the funniest shit ever. As to ones i've talked to personally...they are walking contradictions. They claim to have respect for life and appreciation for it but at the same time state that if given the opportunity(no consequences) to lets say...feed their pet dog to a giant snake(vore fetish)...they'd do it. Why? To get off. An opportunistic and selfish minded society doesn't exactly encourage compassion.

I don't think laws are the issue here. It's like drugs...instead of making them just illegal and arresting people who buy/sell them...why not find out why people would want to take drugs in the first place? Obviously they are not happy, obviously life is not peachy keen for them, obviously things are terribly wrong...but instead of solving the problems we choose to "regulate" the problems with laws. Short of taking away every single freedom of every single person in the world...we will never have peace until we learn WHY people do the things they do and HOW they can be avoided in the first place.

Laws will only extend as far as pets...farm factories will never be forced to accept these laws because of;
1. Profit loss
2. Fear of negative economic impact(treating animals more humanely equates to more expensive product)
3. Lack of compassion for human life which people consider to be above animal life. Meaning animal life will never be priority so long as we don't even care about our fellow people.

Someone should tell them, that despite the enthusiastic tales extolling its virtues, that's NOT what "eating pussy" means.

There is a difference between survival and this type of
bullshit. Wolves kill bunnies all the time, is that bad? You might say people know better and thus should not kill animals when there are alternatives to meat, and that is a matter of debate. However, when it comes down to it, much of nature is kill-or-be-killed by either violence or starvation.

Pain, suffering, and death for nothing more than the sake of pain, suffering, and death is simply wrong.  Which is more important? The life of one sick, malevolent human, or the lives of dozens or hundreds of innocent (innocent meaning intentions lacking malice) animals? Additionally, how long until the sick pleasure obtained from these animals is no longer enough, and these perverts turn to their own species for sadistic thrills?

This reminds me of that video from a while ago where a cat was immolated. Any perverts who take part this type of activity--either by performing the act or spreading the evidence--don't deserve the air they breath.

When you have a priveledged(as in not TOTALLY fucked over) life with no problems it's easy to make comments like "those sickos deserve to die." Try living someone else's life for a little while and see if you feel anything but sadness for them. Everyone is so quick to pass judgement(especially well off people) as if they were God himself, acting like they know every single circumstance that could have lead to a terrible act. It's more sickening than the terrible act itself in my opinion. I have no proof these people are only doing this for survival but I haven't condemned them either because I don't want to jump to conclusions without hearing THEIR reasoning behind what they do.

For those who will probably never bother doing it themselves...I starved myself just to see what it felt like.(get a better understanding of what these people go through)It was like being stabbed in the stomach over and over for two straight months. Not to mention the havok it plays on the brain, felt like I was going insane and I got extremely hostile toward my family/friends. If stomping a cat was my way to getting a meal ticket when all other options were either currently illegal or unavailable...i'd do it, guaranteed. And thats only after two months and having none of the mental stress involved with being in poverty. Monsters are created, not born.(except in rare .01% cases)

Think about that the next time you are wishing death on the people you assume to be sicko's deep down in their heart and soul. Then think about what created them and focus your hatred on THAT. Maybe then we can focus on solving these problems before they become problems instead of just throwing people in mental hospitals and jail.

"Use them until they break down mentally or physically and then throw them away like yesterday's trash" that seems to be the motto of the priviledged people of society.

Cruelty is in the mind of the beholder. What's sick and depraved in one place is a complete social norm in the other. There's no higher justice or a right/wrong. There's only opinion. How many millions of lifeforms do people kill everyday? Everytime you take a shower, every time you wash your hands even, you kill. Because people form emotional bonds to pets they think that they are free of the sins they condemn others for. There's no animal cruelty laws on insects. The whole concept of an exterminator is worse than these videos. Someone, who in some cases, is bound by law to exterminate a huge amount of life-forms because they aren't pleasant to look at. In nature itself there are plenty of animals who slaughter each other with no regaurd to survival.
Like a male lion will slay another males cubs (or it's own) for any number of reasons.

And to say "What the hell is wrong with these eastern people..." of all things. Like this kinda stuff, or worse doesn't happen in the states everyday. What makes your shit not stink? It's one matter to not like what's going on (I myself find it disgusting), but blaming it on the EAST? You bring shame to the name Dave, even if it's just a temporary Fchan handle.

Yeah, it's pretty crazy to make this into an East/West thing. We have slaughterhouses here, and factory farming.

With respect to showering, though, I don't think there's any moral obligation toward anything that doesn't have a nervous system and thus can't feel pain. Bacteria are unaware replicators. Insects may or may not feel pain. That question is up in the air at this time. Fish on up, definitely yes.

I view life as life. Conscious or not, pain feeling or not 'a life is a life.' If we start saying things don't count simply because they lack a certain something it brings blurred lines. Like people  who are brain dead or otherwise not concious, or someone who can feel no pain cause of some chemical imbalance or an otherwise damaged nervous system. I find it hard to beleive anything is superior to any other simply because of some physical attribute. Thus I don't really beleive in moral obligations period (I can't with a perspective like that, otherwise I'd go insane, if I'm not already). Morals tend to be horribly hypocritical (whether that is the fault of the moral itself or the people that uphold them is in the end moot, because one way or another hypocricy will taint them), and the only way to have a firm beleif in them is to have a belief in a higher justice. If there is a higher justice, it's hardly possible a feeble bunch such as us (humans), could truely undertand, or discover it. We're all just yapping our individual opinions, none are more valid than any other.

PS: In post 13 I made a personal attack on the first poster "dave." I'm sorry for that, I got carried away in my ramblings. It was immature of me to do so. "Hate the game, not the player" to put it crudely... ^.^;
