Anyone read this?

Apparently, graveyard greg canceled it for some reason.

(from his livejournal account, May 8th)

"Ending a project that was a labor of love is never easy. Especially when it ending before it really had time to shine."

Anyone know why?

OP here.

Did some digging on his Gaming Guardian forums. Apparently he's going on a creative hiatus of sorts...but that doesn't explain canceling Carpe Diem completely.

Thank god for this, I was going into a panic when I went to check Carpe Diem and found it gone. At least I know this isn't some cruel joke. Damn it though, I loved Carpe Diem! The only web comic I read that can rival my love for it is Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire. I am sending out a call right now, furries unite! We must convince Greg that Carpe Diem WAS shining, that it was well loved and that it has fans just as rabid and dedicated as any of his others, and that if he shouldn't shut it down completely if his sole reason is a desire to take a hiatus! If that isn't his sole reason then he at least owes those of us who have read and adored it an explanation! Who's with me?!?!

I'd like to see them at least tie up some of the dangling plot threads they had going.

We need to figure out why he has cancled the series... I mean, if people weren't buying his comics, he should have just taken down everything but the most recent chapter.

He's explained why in a number of places.  Try the CD LJ community for starters.

"
The domain name for Carpe Diem expired sometime this morning. I thought I had until June, but this turns out to be the straw that broke the camel's back. I will not be renewing the domain. Carpe Diem is done.

Writing a comic is a wonderful thing, but having to find an artist every issue or two was never fun, and after three years of it, I'm not doing it again. Grisser was thinking of leaving since the comic took up too much of his time, leaving him with little space for himself. And the comic was never good in terms of sales. I really can't afford to pay an artist that way. There's no profit to it.

All in all, it was a good run, but I'm tired from all the setbacks. So long, and thanks for all the fun. Once the print comic issue 10 comes about, it's likely that'll be the last one for your collection. Please don't email me and offer to help. I've been down that road before, and it's paved only with good intentions. Good intentions fade out after a while, though, leaving me with having to look for another artist. Uh uh. No. I won't do it again.

Say your goodbyes. This forum is going to be deleted Monday, May 14th at noon Pacific time."
