Fursuits...

When I first heard about "Fursuits" I was expecting something like druid style fur lined gloves and gauntlets, and maybe a pelt robe or something, with those cool mask things even. I'm sure you could make em' synthetic so as not to have to kill a bunch of animals and whatnot, or go hunting. :x

Instead I find the term "Fursuit" to be nothing more then a new term for the age old "Big stupid mascot" costume.

Just thinking, it's a damn shame. Sure the above is damn cheesy... But not have as damn cheesy as the current alternative.

synthetic sucks ! it gives my underskin irritations so this is why i manage to find natural furs. i feel closer to my fursonna then. and do not start about animal rights because you ate them to live too. fur is not murder! fur is a continuity of life , not like most of the fursuitters and their plastic fiber orange/green/violet characters .

Continuity of life?  Explain that one, would you?  How could it be such if the animal had to die for you to obtain its fur?  And who are you to criticize those who own synthetic suits.  It seems to me that you're part of a minority, in your choice of real furs over fake, and while that's your own choice, it's far from your place to tout your opinions as fact.

And as for the original post... meh.  What else could they possibly be called?  There's not much that sums up what they are quite so... succinctly as "fursuit".  Agreed that it is rather stuffy (no pun intended), but yeah.

Huh?  A single word post doesn't say too much :x

Just one more thing on the animal rights bit.  Not specifically about it, but anyways, yes, I'm sure most everyone that browses this site has eaten animals to live.  However, there's a big difference between necessity (already gone over) and killing animals (not necessarily directly) just so you can feel "closer to your fursona".

Note that probably half the furries out there don't own fursuits, for any number of reasons, and you don't hear them going on about such things.  Yes, there are definitely some, but there are exceptions in any sort of group :\

And I withdraw the "minority" bit from my first post.  It's a bit too harsh, but I couldn't think of anything else at the time .  The rest of the sentence still stands, however.

Fursuits are awkward and cumbersome IMO.  But to each their own.  As far as using real fur in a fursuit - that just seems wrong for some reason.

What better way to get into the skin of an animal than wearing its fur (or sodomize it)?

You again?

Here's a length of of rope.  Now, I want you to urinate on the rope so that the urine actually defies gravity and travels UP the rope.  It's called "capillary action".  Go Google it, and GTFO my FChan.

<- OP

At any rate, I don't have much of a problem with real fur, though if it were me I wouldn't wear it unless I was the one who killed it.

The only part I do have a problem with is tiger fur, and other extremely endangered stuff. I love tigers and their fur patterns, but their are so few left in the wild... Losing them ain't worth some clothes. Stick to more common fur like a wolf pelt or fox hide.

Besides, a tiger would feck you up if you tried that shit anyway.

Haha...  "Well shit, tigers are endangered, what animal do we kill now?  Hey look, wolves and foxes!  Get'em!"

Funny and sad, all at the same time.  Pretty classic.

You know what, cocksucker? The thing that's really sad is that apparently what gets your rocks off is trolling on an otherwise fairly happy, levelheaded forum.  Maybe someone should cut your rocks off.  GTFO my FChan, dickweed, and crawl back to your hole.  My Vicodin is wearing off and I'm starting to get really fucking pissed.

I believe it's you who will be having to 'GTFO' if you don't chill. First and only warning.

personally, im not one for the 'mascot' style fursutes. I dont wear fursutes myself but id probable go with a patterned tight fit so it felt more natural. maybe something like spandex. for actual fur, id just use a fur layer attached to teh sute. more movement, less people staring it you wondering what ballgame you escaped from.
(pardon my terrible spelling. i just woke up. lol ^_^;)

Problem with that is, you need to let your skin breathe, or you're going to be in your own personal hell... I always thought bodypaint was a better option, anyway.

Holy crap, dude, a bit touchy, eh?

Sorry I pointed out the stupidity of 'thinking' (<-- Used loosely, around here) that it's more 'okay' to kill one animal (wolves/foxes) over another (tigers), just because we haven't hunted it to near-extinction *yet*.

That kind of 'thinking' just leads to more animals being endangered - which apparently should concern the poster in question even though it obviously doesn't (that's ironic, eh?) - yet it's rather common thinking as well.  Thus the 'sad and funny at the same time' idea.

And yes I do suck cock, but no, trolling doesn't get my rocks off though I agree that if it did, that would be merely sad (and not funny).

Now go take some drugs, and try to relax, okay?  Stress is bad for pain.

I never liked mascot-style or theme park-style costumes so much either. They're okay, but not what I wanted to build and wear myself. There are other styles of animal character costumes to make that fit more closely to the head and body but they're a bit tougher to get in and out of; you can't just step backstage and pull the head off like a helmet. It helps to have a dresser. Full-body fur, real or fake, isn't necessary. Most of these characters go about dressed in clothes like people.

If you want to use real fur, which I don't recommend on account of it being too warm to wear, use rabbit skins. They're cheap and plentiful. Or buy fur coats from thrift stores; they can be found if you look. But in almost all cases you're better off using synthetic fur available by the yard.

Okay without me resorting to my usual disdain and derogatory language for ya'll, can I ask you an honest question?

All ya'll claim that by being furries you are expressing your true selves, and found something closer to who you are then the run of the mill humanity. Ya'll say that but most of ya'll seem to favor the predatory animals, the foxes, wolves shit like that. If you really were one of these animals trapped in a human body or whatever you use to justify your particular perversion, then why do ya'll have any problem with an animal being murdered to fulfill your fantasy? And before someone spits some shit about animals not murdering others needlessly unlike humans. Wouldn't it be in keeping with what ever that passes for a philosophy among ya'll that your suits are a necessary part of you? I don't know I think personally think ya'll are a bunch of self indulgent hedonist wankers and will never know true beauty and happinesswith your wholesale refusal to accept the perfection of Cracky.
