/ha/ - Herm Alt

Okay, every thread on /h/ is getting filled with deleted pictures because there's something- multibreast, bondage, hyper, whatever- that makes it qualify as /a/.

Other people have suggested this: why not make a /ha/ board, for all this "fringe" stuff that keeps getting shuttled around assorted boards?

Yes, there is an /a/ board, but as I see it, it is far too cluttered already- diverting extra traffic and images into it is only making it increasingly difficult to navigate for everybody. Far too many people are being forced to sift through things they are genuinely not interested in because more and more stuff is being shunted off into this single catch-all board.

I daresay more people are inconvenienced by sorting through /a/, than there are inconvenienced by /a/ material on /h/.

I'm not complaining about the idea of the distinction between the boards. I am saying that the point of the current system of organization- to keep content separated and organized, and so people can find the porn they're looking for without wading through the stuff they're not- is not being achieved. /a/ needs to stop being the "everything else" board, because "everything else" is far too broad a category for one board alone.

nevermind, I see there's a topic on this anyway.

Well they closed that topic but hey, maybe if enough people keep piping up we might get a shot. Im just another random person that comes to this site ritualisticly and wanted to express that I feel that there needs to be a /ha.

Alt/Alt Hard don't bother me, I like some of them (most that don't involve death) but thats beside the point. How can you (Directed towards FoxStar mainly) compare this idea to a -Sonic- board or a -cub- board? That stuff is easy to find.

Face it, Herm is dying out. There is barely any new content there and a good 70% of it is reassigned to /A or /AH. Then I and everyone else have to hunt down whatever pic that may be and figure out which alt board it when to and then have to dig through thousands of posts.

Im just a simple person and yes, I don't expect to get anything out of this, herm will probably die out and I will just have nothing to feed my craving with. I just figured I would post this here instead of making a pointless rant in the Herm board.

I think a better option is to simply allow /a material on /h because like it or not, a good majority of /h art contains something that qualifies for /a.

That would be my vote anyway, and is much better than adding a new board that will simply cut the posts in /h even more.

Easy. Both have tons and tons more content then a herm /a/ board does. Both alone have more content then /herm/ and /hermalt/ have together. You gotta think about it, if we will not give them their own set apart boards because there's simply not enough content in those two catagores, why give herm a /a/ board all it's on when it would very likely not even get the total number of posts that /artist/ gets?

Honestly, if we pandered to every board's /a/ whims it would create no less then five new boards and a ton more work for the mod team. I believe Xeno will comment later on this but for now and for the future to come there are no plans to open any other boards. /toon/ was created for a good reason and unless you have a commissioned flood of herm /a/ art to create at least no less then 300% more content then there is now, there's nothing to even debate on.

I agree with you, it would be so much easier and kind of make sense, seeing as herm is already a little /a/ within itself.

Well then, we could just get rid of /h/ altogether and put it on the /a/ boards then.

Actually, yes, but there's so much more general herm content than there is any othr specific thread topic content, a single thread couldn't keep it.  Even if /h/ is a generally small board, it's too big to be put into a couple threads.

Have you ever tried downloading porn on Limewire?  It's a pain in the ass. o_o  Downloading a PS3 emulator is safer than the crap people put up for porn there. >_>

I think the whole system needs an overhaul. This chan stuff was originally built for one or two boards with mixed content. Now it's just stretching before breaking up completely.

There's just too much overlap in several areas that it becomes hard to find stuff.

Why not dump /a/ and /ah/ completely and give each post a flag determining what sort of content it has.

Leave /f/s/m/h/t in place and instead, give the user an option to simply filter out the content they don't like. That way you don't even have to shuffle anything around. Just mark it with a different flag, and BAM, it dissapears for those who don't want to see it.

Maybe you could mark threads with flags, so the irrelevant threads vanish along with their contents when you don't want to see them.

One thread could be /sa/ material, the other one /sah/ and people with neither of them selected would just see the regular /s/ threads.

Are those even possible on chan boards?

Hard to say.

While I'm not a technical expert, I for one believe wholeheartedly in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

/a/ and /ah/ aren't broken. In essence, they ARE the filters for that kind of material.

>>12 I'm sure it's possable. The chances of Xeno coding such a feature? Nil.
