What do the icons mean?

I've read the FAQs and suchlike, but I haven't found any explanation of the meaning of the icons that appear next to some of the names in the thread listing at the top of each of the main pages (f/m/h/s.../c).

One looks like a letter R in a comics balloon, named "reply.gif".  THe other is a light-blue box around the letters FL on a white background.  The name "swf.gif" seems to imply there's some flash there, but when I look at the thread I don't find any flash files.

So what do those icons mean?  Are they explained somewhere obvious that I somehow managed to overlook?

Clicking the little "R" seems to be some sort of a quick-reply feature, and the "FL" is exactly what you thought - an indication that flash content was posted in whatever thread.  Either you just overlooked the links to the movies, or maybe they got deleted or something :s

Don't know if they're explained already somewhere else, but meh :p

Poster wants to know what the board abbreviations mean, specifically the ones used at the top of board pages. (/f/, /m/, /s/, etc.)

>>3
They are board abbreviations.  Rather than saying the whole board name it's much simpler to just use the "abbreviation."  These are technically derived from the directory names, hence the slashes.  So rather than saying, "There's a thread in the Female board," you could say, "There's a thread in /f/."  If you're not sure what a particular one stands for, just look at main the board list on the left.  I mean, they're all written RIGHT THERE next to the board they refer to.

>>6 Ahh, that makes sense. :3

>>3 Well, it says on the boards, but:

/f = female
/m = male
/h = herm
/s = straight
/a = alternative
/ah = alt (hard)
/c = clean
/b = banners

And the other should be fairly obvious. ;)
