Furry (web)comics

Didn't think this belonged in request since it wasn't for an image or file, sorry if I've misplaced it.

So I just got done looking through the archives of Better Days (http://www.jaynaylor.com/betterdays/archives/2003/04/post_2.html) and it got me hungering for some more good furry comics, specifically web-based since I'm a cheap bastard and lack a credit card.  Anything with lots of love, lust, sex, drama and humour, that sort of thing.  Or just anything furry I guess.  Any recommendations?

Good webcomics in general are hard enough to find, let alone good furry webcomics.  Sabrina Online is an old favorite, but it's really more slice-of-life cutesy than it is genuinely funny.  At least it's drawn well, and has relatively interesting characters.  Come to think of it, I can't think of any furry webcomics that are good for a laugh.  There have been a few good regular webcomics, though, like Night Shift, Sinfest, and The Fantastical Bestiary, but lately they seem to have jumped the shark.  I'll have to hunt for some new ones when I've worked up enough patience.

Bizzle, you have obviously never heard of DMFA. :P That's actually the first thing I'm going to suggest: http://www.missmab.com/

I'll bring up Carpe Diem just because it's wikifur's comic of the week: http://www.webcomicsnation.com/graveyardgreg/carpediem/series.php

Fuzzy Things has undergone many different incarnations, but I've enjoyed it in all of it's forms. Although, it was the first furry comic I read so I could be biased: http://www.furry.org.au/fz/

Jack, despite it's many dissidents, is one of the more popular furry webcomics: http://www.pholph.com/

Finally, although you would need to pay to see the entire thing (it's definitely worth it) the comic Digger is simply fantastic: http://www.graphicsmash.com/comics/digger.php

Really though, there are too many furry comics to name. I suggest looking at www.belfry.com/comics/ for a pretty good archive of comics you might enjoy. I really hope you find something you like, good luck!

>>3  DMFA.  Meh.  It doesn't suck, but again, it's cutesy.  It'll give you a little smirk in the corner of your mouth or even occasionally make you smile, but it's not actually funny.  At least it makes an attempt to amuse and doesn't always fail.  AND it sees fit to grace us with a punchline in most every strip.  Too many webcomics get so caught up in their own trite plots that they forget to add funny.

Admittedly, my standards are high.  It's worth it to spurn the mediocre and keep searching, because every now and then you find something that will provoke an ever so rare genuine laugh.  Like I remember when I stumbled upon Sinfest for the first time, back before Tatsuya started getting serious about trying to get syndicated.  I actually had to collect my breath between pages.

Good question, and good links!

One comic I know of that I thought is pretty good is Shayla the Pink Mouse. NOTE that it can be very NSFW (ie: hawt), but it also has some funny bits. Unfortunately Shane isn't drawing it any longer.

Apart from (aforementioned) Carpe Diem and JACK, I currently follow:
Akaelae at hxxp://www.cyantian.net
Exterminatus Now at hxxp://exterminatusnow.comicgenesis.com
and
Lackadaisy Cats at hxxp://www.lackadaisycats.com

Great comics all, though exterminatus is the only one that is strictly humor-based.

I heartily seacond the endorsement for JACK.

It's a great comic, with a plot on the same level as the best graphic novels being published.

Again, that link is htt://www.pholph.com/

>>8  "Exterminatus"?  Hmm, that sounds Daemonhunters-esque.  ...What!  It's a furry 40k webcomic with dumb jokes!  Yeah, I'll read this one.

Alright so my standards aren't THAT high.

Hey, bad humor is the best!

>>11  Hell yeah it is!  That's why the Stooges rule to this day.

Okay, because nobody really cares here's my opinion of Exterminatus Now.  It's not going to be for everybody.  The jokes are layups, there's inside humor in spades, it's violent at times (though never really over the top), and the occasional glib innuendo is about as close to the old in-and-out as you'll ever get.  To me personally, these are all good things, but I'm sure many here think otherwise.

The characters are thin but likable, and they have a chemistry with every one of them having a part to play in the story and the humorous setups.  Secondary characters, particularly the villains, can be a treat.

The setting is an odd hybrid of Archie's Mobius and Warhammer 40k.  In this, it has the unique distinction of being the only Sonic universe *anything* that hasn't made me feel nauseous.  The story revolves around a pair of Mobius Inquisitors (umm, yeah) and their retinue either going on various daemonhunting missions or just lazing about and behaving badly.  Things happen in this comic.  Characters are introduced, killed, and outed as being transvestites.  Thank the Dark Gods (who I swear are terrible cheats at poker) that the writers never let all that stop them from delivering a joke in the final panel.

So yeah, I like it.  The jokes are hit-and-miss, but some of the hits are more than worth reading on for.  Its strongest point, though, is its formula which, again, will not be for everyone.

Yeah, the old Darkies are awsome, huh? I mean...

"Raaaargh! Damn it all! Stupid cards, stupid game, stupid-
Um, I mean... Ah, just the card I was looking for. You guys better fold, you can't beat this hand."

I love the axe with the collar-thingie! And the flying saliva! And the flying markers!
