Drawing aids?

So everyone knows those "how to draw" books. I'm specifically referencing the ones that discuss body structures and muscular design etc. (so none of that anime/cartoon stuff).

I'm looking for something like that, for furs. So stuff that discusses muzzle structure, leg bone and muscular structure, etc. Not specifically a book, but I remember seeing images around that other artists create, to show 'how to draw'. I figure I'd like these aids, as I'd like something to improve my practice before I ever consider posting any of my sketches.

Look at animal anatomy books, it's the best way to learn the TRUE anatomy of an animal. If you know how to "draw from life" then reference pictures of animal anatomy will let you learn how to draw furries awfully quick.

Then all you have to do at that point is mix traits of human anatomy with animal anatomy. You can also stylize much easier once you have a knowledge of how the real anatomy works.

Stylize appropriately, that would be.  I know a lot of people who stylize stuff and it looks pretty bad, but then again they don't really know what they're doing.

I almost know what I'm doing and when I stylize stuff it looks bad.  :B  Dunno how to stylize that well.  Gotta take that dive into, dunno where, really.

Can't remember the name but I found and bought a book for my young stepsister two years ago that was a general 'how to draw' animals book, with some decent internal structure work, basics of building up a creature in a drawing, and even some caricatures of the animals.  It might help you out.  I'll browse around for the name and post when I find it.  :)

That sounds useful, yeah I'm sorta starting my work by just drawing the structure. until I'm happy with it. I'm trying to mix certain traits, such as the double jointed legs. I'd rather start by drawing sticks than bad full work.

wtf all this thread.. off-topic?
simple, draw a red-orange sphere, fill it with spikes, as many as you can, and then you got a beautiful AIDS (or hiv virus )

glad to help!
