What happened to thread about good furry books? It was here a minute ago & I was about to respond to someone who claimed there was no such thing as "good furry literature" and I was about to point out that -

Fantasy genre books featuring anthro characters are fine - but how about some GROWN-UP books about anthro animals? And I'm not talking porn:

The Bear Comes Home (although he does have sex with his human girlfriend)
http//www.amazon.com/...

Lives of the Monster Dogs
http//www.amazon.com/...

The Bear Went Over the Mountain
http//www.amazon.com/...

Doctor Rat
http//www.amazon.com/...

Carmen Dog
http//www.amazon.com/...

Gojiro (he's an intelligent being playing the part of 'Godzilla' in those monster movies; story revolves around development of atomic bombs in the 1950's)
http//www.amazon.com/...

I've read the 1st 5, all were excellent & Gojiro sounds pretty damn interesting - & I'm sure there are plenty more out there.

Q: If some threads just get deleted when they're bumped for being too old why do they remain accessible?

A: Because threads that have been created in the last few weeks/months get priority at the top of /dis/. When people bump old threads, it pushes the newest and most relevant threads down.

This does not mean that an old thread can never be revived if there exists a significant update to the subject it discusses to justify its resurrection. However, when a series of old threads are bumped without major content, it is viewed by most Internet forums as a type of trolling. That is, raising a bunch of ancient threads from the dead without providing significant enough reason for doing so, and pushing more recent threads lower on the list, can be interpreted as either aggression or thoughtlessness by moderators.

Do comic count, or it's only written stories?

Of course, it's a classic. BTW, Terry jones of Monty Python made a great movie version of this. Disney distributes the movie renamed 'Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.' (Same name they use for that ride at Disneyland - quite a coincidence, eh?)

Hmmm, I remember one I read many years ago about man made chimera lions, the main character is a human girl and there is also an infirm fox chimera (Reynard?). I believe the book was rather unimaginatively called "beasts" and was a number of years old even when I read it half a decade ago. I can't remember the author, the name of the publishing house, and Google searches turn up everything except what I want to find. I wasn't very keen on it myself but I thought I'd mention what little I know - sorry.
