Rape and Mind Control... why?

Here's something that, no matter how much I try to rationalize it, I can't understand... why are there so many furs out there who seem to want to be victims of rape and/or be mind controlled? In both cases, the person lacks control over their situation, whether by being forced physically to do another's will or by being turned into what is essentially a zombie and thus not having their own will. What exactly is it about others making your most intimate decisions on your behalf that people see as hot? I don't get it...

Simple, it's a power fantasy. Some people think loss of control is sexy. Think of it as being submissive.

I don't understand either extreme.

It's not so much about being controlled unwillingly, as much as it is unleashing the sexual self the higher mind wants to lock up and eternally deny.

My negative sense of over-civility, contempt for my own sexual feelings, and intense inner shame, imprisons my id and demands that I must remain celibate forever. My higher self, my inner angel, is my warped inner dominatrix that forever denies me sexual expression. Only a rapist can free me from the cruel master of my conscience and grant me release.

Well it can be more then just erotic, it can also be cathartic. Being free of control of everything to serve another's pleasure can be very soothing. Even in such an abusive setting. Though some would enjoy this in real life, for most it's a fantasy to be played out over controlled periods of time.

Any strong emotion or sensation can manifest itself as an erotic one.

The vast majority of animals rape to reproduce.  Human society, thankfully, has advanced to a point where this biological urge is typically discouraged (and punished), but that doesn't make the biological urge go away.

It's not exclusive to furs, lots of women, as well as men, get those fantasies, it's been like that since, um always.
If you don't "understand it", there's 1000+ websites on BDSM that explain the psychology behind being extremely submissive and extremely dominant, and how it's not to the extend of actually harming someone.
http://www.xeromag.com/fvbdsm.html [though this site is very opinionated, it'll shed some light on their side of the fence]
To get the sense of realism other than playing it out with safewords.
They also draw and write stories.

I'd rather they drew, wrote and play with consenting adults than turn into friggen David Parker Ray D8
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Parker_Ray
[not saying they all would of course, but this is what happens when they can't express their fantasies by any other means than the real thing]

I find this far more troubling than people wanting to pretend and express themselves in art.

Think of it as an adrenaline buzz. When you have no control over... say your car or bike you are scared and buzzing from adrenaline. Sorry, struggling for words.

Oh, yeah, I remember reading a study about how fear plays into sexual arousal.  It's either that fear of death spurs the instinct to procreate (last chance to pass on your genes, right?) or that the body just has a hard time differentiating between different types of excited.  Maybe both.

Or, for that matter, the number of cops that act out their repressed BDSM fantasies on prostitutes, gay people, trans people, black people instead of just having sex in a dungeon like a decent human being.
